AT&T Inc. provides telecommunications services in the United States and internationally. The company operates through two segments, Wireless and Wireline. The Wireless segment offers data and voice services, including local, long-distance, and network access services, as well as roaming services to youth, family, professionals, small businesses, government, and business customers. This segment also sells various handsets, wirelessly enabled computers, and personal computer wireless data cards through its owned stores, agents, or third-party retail stores; and accessories, such as carrying cases, hands-free devices, batteries, battery chargers, and other items to consumers, as well as to agents and third-party distributors. As of December 31, 2014, it served approximately 120 million wireless subscribers. The Wireline segment provides switched and dedicated transport, DSL Internet access, network integration, managed Web-hosting, packet, and enterprise networking services, as well as intrastate, interstate, and international wholesale networking capacity to other service providers. It also offers voice services consisting of local and long-distance services; and wholesale switched access services to other service providers, as well as sells customer premises equipment and other equipment comprising basic telephones and private digital switching systems. This segment served 9 million retail consumer access lines, 9 million retail business access lines, and 2 million wholesale access lines. The company was formerly known as SBC Communications Inc. and changed its name to AT&T Inc. in November 2005. AT&T Inc. was founded in 1983 and is based in Dallas, Texas.

AT&T Invests Nearly $150 Million Over Three-Year-Period To Enhance Local Network In Greenville Area

AT&T, Inc. has invested nearly $150 million in its best-in-class wireless and wired networks in Greenville from 2012 through 2014, driving a wide range of upgrades to enhance reliability, coverage, speed and performance for residents and business customers. As part of its Project Velocity IP (VIP), an investment plan focused on network enhancement and expansion, AT&T in 2014 made 27 wireless network upgrades in the Greenville area, including 12 new cell sites, the addition of network capacity, and 13 new wireless high-speed Internet connections. Additionally, AT&T expanded the reach of its network, providing access to AT&T U-verse® High Speed Internet, AT&T U-verse video and AT&T U-verse voice services to nearly 19,000 new customer locations.

AT&T Inc. Fires Aaron Slator, President of Content and Advertising Sales

AT&T Inc. confirmed that it has fired Aaron Slator, a president who became the subject of a $100 million discrimination lawsuit for using his work phone to send racially offensive images. The suit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, names as defendants Slator, the company, CEO Randall Stephenson, other executives and board member Joyce Roche. Slator was president of content and advertising sales, managing its budget for content acquisition that is consumed by subscribers of AT&T's U-verse TV service.

AT&T Launches U-Verse with AT&T Gigapower in Chicago Suburbs

AT&T Inc. has launched U-verse with AT&T GigaPower in parts of Elgin, Oswego, Plainfield, Skokie, Yorkville and surrounding communities located throughout the metro area. Additionally, AT&T has announced plans to expand the service to Chicago this summer. The AT&T GigaPower network delivers the speed customers' need to power all of their devices and connect them to the content that matters most. Ultra-fast Internet speeds up to 1 gigabit per second improve the customer experience for consumers and small businesses using the network to connect to the cloud, videoconferencing, online gaming or for other services. U-verse with AT&T GigaPower customers are also getting faster Wi-Fi speeds through an upgraded residential gateway that takes advantage of the latest in Wi-Fi technology. The new gateway connects more devices with faster speeds from nearly anywhere in the home or business. Customers who subscribe to U-verse with AT&T GigaPower will continue to have access to TV services.
