Software AG Reports Unaudited Earnings Results for the Fourth Quarter, Second Half Year and Full Year Ended December 31, 2014; Provides Earnings Guidance for the Year 2015

Software AG reported unaudited earnings results for the fourth quarter, second half year and full year ended December 31, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported total revenue (without divestments) of EUR 247.3 million against EUR 254.8 million for the same period in the last year. EBIT was EUR 71.4 million against EUR 70.4 million for the same period in the last year. Operating earnings (non-IFRS) were EUR 88.4 million against EUR 83.8 million for the same period in the last year. Net income was EUR 47.4 million or EUR 0.60 per share against EUR 46.9 million or EUR 0.57 per share for the same period in the last year. Free cash flow was EUR 47.0 million against EUR 53.5 million for the same period in the last year. The company’s total revenue for fiscal 2014 was EUR 857.8 million against EUR 972.7 million, adjusted for divestments of EUR 897.1 million for 2013. Fiscal 2014 EBIT was EUR 176.0 million against EUR 205.5 million for the same period a year ago. The operating income (non-IFRS) showed a similar development - down from the year before in the first half of 2014, increased sales efficiency and proactive cost management subsequently led to a significant rise in profitability in the second half of the year. Net income after taxes in fiscal 2014 totaled EUR 110.6 million against EUR 134.0 million for the same period in the last year. Earnings per share were EUR 1.39 against EUR 1.60 for the same period a year ago. The company's operating income (non-IFRS) was therefore EUR 151.2 million in the second half of 2014, which was slightly up year-on-year EUR 150.1 million. As a result of the company's focus on profitable growth in the second half of 2014, its EBIT margin leaped to 24% in the third quarter and to 29% in the fourth. Based on the positive financial performance in the second half of 2014, the initiated Go-To-Market improvements and the expanded leading product offering, the company expects between 6% and 12% growth in BPE revenue for fiscal 2015 year-on-year (at constant currency; current exchange rates could result in revenue growth of between 10% and 16%). The company expects to make further progress in the stability of its ETS customer base and anticipates ETS revenue of negative 8% to negative 14% year-on-year at constant currency (here too current exchange rates could have a positive effect on stated numbers). Efficiency improvements in sales and marketing, as well as for the company as a whole, will continue to have a positive impact on profitability in fiscal 2015. The company forecasts an operating profit margin (EBITA, non-IFRS) of between 27.5% and 28.5% and accordingly, based on the assumption that there will be no further non-operational charges, an increase in EBIT margin according to IFRS by 1.0 to 2.0 percentage points.
