Standard Motor Products, Inc. manufactures and distributes replacement parts for motor vehicles in the automotive aftermarket industry. It operates in two segments, Engine Management and Temperature Control. The Engine Management segment manufactures engine management replacement parts, including electronic ignition control modules, fuel injectors, remanufactured diesel injectors and pumps, ignition wires, coils, switches, sensors, relays, EGR valves, distributor caps and rotors, and other engine management components, as well as wire and cable parts. It offers its products primarily under the Standard, BWD, Intermotor, OEM, LockSmart, Select, TechSmart, Tech Expert, and GP Sorensen brands, as well as through private labels, such as CARQUEST, Intermotor, Duralast, Duralast Gold, Import Direct, Master Pro, NAPA, NAPA Echlin, Mileage Plus, NAPA Proformer, and NAPA Belden. The Temperature Control segment manufactures, remanufactures, and markets replacement parts for automotive temperature control systems, engine cooling systems, power window accessories, and windshield washer systems, primarily under the Four Seasons, Factory Air, EVERCO, ACi, Imperial, COMPRESSORWORKS, TORQFLO, and Hayden brands, as well as through private labels, including Duralast, NAPA Temp Products, Cold Power, and Murray. It also offers new and remanufactured compressors, clutch assemblies, blower and radiator fan motors, filter dryers, evaporators, accumulators, hose assemblies, expansion valves, heater valves, heater cores, AC service tools and chemicals, fan assemblies and clutches, engine oil and transmission coolers, window lift motors, and window regulators and assemblies. The company sells its products to warehouse distributors, retail chains, original equipment manufacturers, and original equipment service part operations in the United States, Canada, Latin America, and Europe. Standard Motor Products, Inc. was founded in 1919 and is headquartered in Long Island City, New York.

Standard Motor Products, Inc. Reports Unaudited Consolidated Earnings Results for the Fourth Quarter and Year Ended December 31, 2014

Standard Motor Products Inc. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2014. For the quarter, net sales were $218.1 million, compared to $218.7 million during the comparable quarter in 2013. Operating income  was $19 million against $15.7 million last year. Earnings from continuing operations for the fourth quarter of 2014 were $11.5 million or $0.50 per basic and diluted share, compared to $9.4 million or $0.40 per diluted share in the fourth quarter of 2013. Earnings from continuing operations before taxes were $17.7 million compared to $15.5 million in the fourth quarter of 2013. Net earnings  were $11.1 million or $0.48 per basic and diluted share against $8.9 million or $0.38 per diluted share last year. Excluding non-operational gains and losses, earnings from continuing operations for the fourth quarter of 2014 were $11.4 million or $0.49 per diluted share, compared to $9.7 million or $0.42 per diluted share in the fourth quarter of 2013. Non-GAAP operating income was $18.8 million against $16.3 million last year. For the year, net sales were $980.4 million, compared to $983.7 million in 2013. Operating income  was $85.3 million against $86.9 million last year. Earnings from continuing operations before taxes were $81.8 million compared to $85 million last year. Earnings from continuing operations were $52.9 million or $2.28 per diluted share, compared to $53 million or $2.28 per diluted share in 2013. Net earnings  were $43.0 million or $1.85 per diluted share against $51.5 million or $2.21 per diluted share last year. Excluding non-operational gains and losses, earnings from continuing operations for 2014 and 2013 were $58.7 million or $2.52 per diluted share and $54.1 million or $2.32 per diluted share, respectively. Non-GAAP operating income was $96.1 million against $89.2 million last year. Net cash provided by operating activities was $47 million against $57.6 million last year. Capital expenditures were $13.9 million against $11.4 million last year.
