It offers various deposit instruments, including demand deposit accounts, negotiable order of withdrawal accounts, money market deposit accounts, saving accounts, certificates of deposit, and retirement savings plans. The company also provides loans for the acquisition or refinance of one-to four-family residences; loans secured by commercial real estate, including land, strip shopping centers, retail establishments, and other businesses; construction loans; and various secured consumer loans comprising home equity, direct and indirect automobile loans, second mortgages, mobile home loans, and loans secured by deposits. In addition, it offers commercial business loans, such as loans to finance accounts receivable, inventory, equipment, and operating lines of credit; and commercial and agricultural real estate loans. The company provides its products and services through its headquarters, and 31 full service and 3 limited service offices located in Poplar Bluff, Van Buren, Dexter, Kennett, Doniphan, Sikeston, Qulin, Matthews, Springfield, Thayer, West Plains, Alton, Clever, Forsyth, Fremont Hills, Kimberling City, Ozark, Nixa, Rogersville, Missouri, Jonesboro, Paragould, Brookland, Batesville, Searcy, Bald Knob, and Bradford, Arkansas. Southern Missouri Bancorp, Inc. announced that the Board of Directors, on October 20, 2015, declared its 86th consecutive quarterly dividend on common stock since the inception of the Company. The cash dividend of $0.09 per common share will be paid November 30, 2015, to common stockholders of record at the close of business on November 13, 2015. The company reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended September 30, 2015. For the quarter, the company’s net interest income was $11,704,000 compared to $11,129,000 a year ago. The increase was attributable to a 6.7% increase in the average balance of interest-earning assets. Preliminary net income available to common shareholders was $3,585,000 compared to $3,249,000 a year ago. The increase was attributable to increases in net interest income, noninterest income, and a decrease in provision for loan losses. Preliminary net income available to common shareholders was $0.48 per fully diluted common share for the first quarter of fiscal 2016, an increase of $0.04, or 9.1%, as compared to $0.44 the same period of the prior fiscal year. Annualized return on average assets was 1.12%, while annualized return on average common equity was 12.6%, as compared to 1.09% and 13.2%, respectively, in the same quarter a year ago. Net interest margin for the first quarter of fiscal 2016 was 3.87%, down from the 3.93% reported for the year ago period. Book value per common share was $15.72 compared to $14.54 a year ago.
