It operates through four segments: Construction, Residential Development, Commercial Property Development, and Infrastructure Development. The Construction segment constructs non-residential and residential buildings, as well as civil projects. The Residential Development segment develops residential projects for immediate sale. The Commercial Property Development segment initiates, develops, leases, and divests commercial property projects. The Infrastructure Development segment identifies, develops, and invests in privately financed infrastructure projects, such as highways, hospitals, and power-generating plants. Skanska AB was founded in 1887 and is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.

Skanska to Be A Partner to Welsh Wateru2019s Asset Management Programme in Uk

Skanska in a partnership with Hyder Consulting Ltd. has been appointed as part of Welsh Water's AMP6 programme in the UK. The total contract runs from 2015 to 2020, with an option of a five year extension. The value to Skanska over the first two years will be about GBP 46 million, about SEK 580 million, which will be included in order bookings for Skanska UK in the first quarter of 2015. Work starts in April 2015, following an early contractor phase involving all partners.

Skanska Announces Executive Changes

Jennifer Clark has been appointed Senior Vice President Sustainability at Skanska. Jennifer will begin April 1, and succeeds Noel Morrin who will leave Skanska and take on the position as Executive Vice President and head the Group's Social Responsibility at Stora Enso. Jennifer will report to Claes Larsson, Executive Vice President Skanska AB. Jennifer Clark has been working in Skanska since 2000. She started her career with Skanska based on projects and has for six years held the position as Director of Environment for Skanska UK, where she also is a member of the Senior Management Team. She has played key roles in the Skanska Group teams for Green, Corporate Community Investment, Ethics and Diversity & Inclusion, four key areas within Sustainability that Skanska will continue to focus on.

Skanska Signs Contract to Deliver New Papworth Hospital in Cambridge

Skanska signed a contract to deliver the New Papworth Hospital in Cambridge. The latest business information modeling (BIM) technology will be used in the design phase to maximise energy efficiency and ensure the hospital offers long-term flexibility. The construction techniques used will allow reconfiguration of the hospital over time, making it fit for purpose both on delivery and for the future. The technology is also being used to engage clinicians in the construction process. Skanska will provide Cambridgeshire with a hospital that is an exemplar of the facilities available to NHS patients and clinicians.
