The company also provides a range of technologies used for below-ground waterproofing, including flexible membrane systems, liquid applied membranes, waterproofing admixtures for mortars, joint sealants, waterproofing mortars, injection grouts and coatings for use in various markets, such as basements, underground parking garages, tunnels, and various water-retaining structures. In addition, it offers synthetic resin and cementitious systems for industrial and commercial buildings; and elastic sealing and bonding solutions for various job site needs, as well as provides adhesives. Further, the company offers concrete protection and repair solutions; and interior finishing products, such as leveling compounds, tile adhesives, and tile grouts. It serves commercial vehicle, automotive aftermarket, renewable energies, and facade engineering industries. The company was founded in 1910 and is headquartered in Baar, Switzerland.

Sika Announces Executive Changes

Sika has appointed a new general manager for its business in Canada. Sika said that effective 6 October, Richard Aubertin took over from Michael Hardman as general manager of Sika Canada. Aubertin was previously Sika's general manager in Portugal. Meanwhile, Hardman was appointed senior vice president of mergers and acquisitions for Sika in North America.

Sika Reports Earnings Results for the Nine Months Ended September 2015; Provides Earnings Guidance for the Year 2015; Provides Revenue Guidance for the Year 2016

Sika reported earnings results for the nine months ended September 2015. For the period, the company reported net profit rose by 9.0% year on year to CHF 338.2 million in the first nine months of 2015 in spite of a drop in net sales. Net profit after tax, again, improved over proportionally by 9% on the back of lower interest cost and lower tax expenses. Overall sales fell by 1.9% year on year to CHF 4.1 billion in January-September in 2015 on the strength of the Swiss franc, but at constant exchange rates (CER), sales were up by 5.5%. And resulting EBIT growth was a strong 7.2% compared to the same period last year. The company's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose by 5.7% year on year to CHF 612.8 million. The company's expects sales growth of 5% on the basis of constant exchange rates in 2015. Margins for the year as a whole are expected to rise at above-average rates to continued volume growth, efficiency improvements and lower commodity prices. The company still expects to have stable sales in 2016.
