Siemens Wins USD 29.8 Million Transmission Contract

CFE has awarded Siemens a USD 29.8 million substation and transmission line project in the northern state of Coahuila. The contract is for the construction of a 400/115kV substation and five 115kV transmission lines totaling 25km. The project will guarantee the electricity supply in that state and reduce operating costs, and provide a better quality and more economical service to customers.

Siemen Wins Contract from Apex Clean Energy to Supply and Installation for the Grant Wind Project

Siemens has secured a turbine supply and installation contract from Apex Clean Energy for the Grant Wind project in Grant County, Oklahoma, the US. The contract will require Siemens to provide 66 Siemens SWT-2.3-108 wind turbines with a total capacity of around 151MW. The wind turbines with 53m blades are part of the company's G2 platform of onshore geared products that are suitable for all wind conditions. The nacelles and blades for the project will be assembled and manufactures at Siemens' facilities in Hutchinson, Kansas, and Fort Madison, Iowa respectively. Siemens will begin installing the turbines this month, with planned commissioning in the spring of 2016. The company also signed a long-term service and maintenance agreement for the turbines. Siemens Financial Services is proving $50 million in construction financing for the project, which will generate clean electricity that will be enough to power around 50,000 average US homes.

Siemens Receives Order for 151-Mw Wind Project in the United States

Siemens received order for 151-MW wind project in the U.S. Grant Wind power plant will consist of 66 Siemens SWT-2.3-108 wind turbines. The project will feature 66 Siemens SWT-2.3-108 wind turbines, each with a power rating of 2.3 megawatts (MW) and 53-meter blades. The Siemens SWT-2.3-108 wind turbines are part of the company's G2 platform of onshore geared products - the workhorse of Siemens' installed portfolio with rotor diameters optimized for all wind conditions. The G2 platform features exceptional reliability and low operational costs for an optimized return on investment. The nacelles for the Grant Wind project will be assembled at the Siemens facility in Hutchinson, Kansas, and the blades will be manufactured at the Siemens blade facility in Fort Madison, Iowa. The 151-MW project is expected to create enough clean energy to power approximately 50,000 average U.S. homes. A long-term service and maintenance agreement for the turbines was also signed and includes Siemens' remote monitoring and diagnostic services, which offer a proactive approach to service and maintenance to help bolster the performance of the turbines during their lifetime. Additionally, Siemens is supplying the project's main step up transformer.
