SAM Engineering & Equipment (M) Berhad, an investment holding company, provides precision manufacturing solutions for aerospace, renewable energy, semiconductor, medical equipment, oil and gas, and related microelectronics industries worldwide. The company operates through three segments: Aerospace, Equipment Manufacturing, and Precision Engineering. It designs and assembles modular or complete machines and equipment; designs, develops, and manufactures trim and form dies, and suspension tooling for hard disk drive parts; manufactures aircraft components and precision engineering parts; fabricates precision tools and machinery parts; and manufactures aircraft and other related equipment parts, spares, components, and precision engineering parts. The company also designs and assembles automation equipment with equipment control software; develops and produces computer process control systems for printed circuit board handling systems and component assembly lines; manufactures dies, jigs, parts, and cutting tools for disk drives, electronics, semi-conductor, and other industries; and offers design, manufacture, and service support for semiconductor, electronic, disk drive, medical, solar, LED, and other industrial equipment. Its products and solutions include test handlers, laser mark handlers, material handling systems, vision inspection solutions, factory automation solutions, original design manufacturing, contract manufacturing, system integration, precision metal volume and jobbing fabrication, precision metal fabrication, and large format machining. The company was formerly known as LKT Industrial Berhad and changed its name to SAM Engineering & Equipment (M) Berhad in September 2010. The company was founded in 1948 and is headquartered in Penang, Malaysia. SAM Engineering & Equipment (M) Berhad is a subsidiary of Singapore Precision Engineering Limited.

SAM Engineering & Equipment (M) Berhad reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported revenue of MYR 113,542,000 compared to MYR 121,021,000 a year ago. Profit before tax was MYR 13,086,000 compared to MYR 7,548,000 a year ago. Profit for the period was MYR 11,545,000 compared to MYR 5,861,000 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share were 8.67 sen compared to 4.41 sen a year ago. The increase in group revenue was mainly due to the higher revenue of the Aerospace segment of MYR 3.5 million. The higher profit before tax was mainly due to the favorable foreign exchange movement compared to the preceding quarter. For the nine months, the company reported revenue of MYR 319,027,000 compared to MYR 326,952,000 a year ago. Profit before tax was MYR 22,564,000 compared to MYR 22,551,000 a year ago. Profit for the period was MYR 19,248,000 compared to MYR 18,560,000 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share were 14.61 sen compared to 14.28 sen a year ago. For the quarter, the company reported profit attributable to owners of MYR 6,129,000 or 4.58 sen diluted earnings per share on revenue of MYR 112,328,000 compared to profit attributable to owners of MYR 10,262,000 or 7.83 sen diluted earnings per share on revenue of MYR 111,188,000 for the corresponding period last year. Profit before tax was MYR 7,358,000 against MYR 12,220,000 of prior year period. For the quarter, the company reported revenue of MYR 93,157,000 against MYR 94,743,000 a year ago. Profit before taxation was MYR 2,120,000 against MYR 2,783,000 a year ago.
