Security Bank Corporation provides various banking and financial services in the Philippines. It operates through Financial Markets, Wholesale Banking, Retail Banking, and All Other segments. The company’s Financial Markets segment offers money market, foreign exchange, financial derivative, securities distribution, asset management, and trust and fiduciary services. Its Wholesale Banking segment provides relationship management services, lending and other credit facilities, trade services, cash management services, and deposit-taking services for corporate, institutional, and public sector markets. This segment also offers structured financing and advisory services relating to debt and equity capital raising, project financing, and mergers and acquisitions. The company’s Retail Banking segment is involved in deposit-taking and servicing activities; and providing commercial and consumer loans, as well as credit card facilities for the individual, retail, small-and medium enterprise, and middle markets. Its All Other Segment offers remittances, leasing, transaction banking, and other support services. In addition, the company provides a range of investment banking and financial services comprising equity underwriting, project finance, private placements, debt underwriting and syndication, financial advisory, mergers and acquisitions, privatization, investment and corporate advisory, and stock brokering services, as well as distributes insurance products. Further, it rents and leases machineries and equipment, automotive equipment, automobiles, and a range of motor vehicles, as well as various land, air, or water transportation systems; and invests in real estate properties. As of December 31, 2014, the company operated a network of 256 on-line branches and 506 ATMs. Security Bank Corporation was founded in 1951 and is headquartered in Makati, the Philippines.

Security Bank Corporation Announces Unaudited Consolidated Earnings Results for the Second Quarter and Six Months Ended June 30, 2015

Security Bank Corporation announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2015. For the quarter, the company's net interest income was PHP 2.9 billion compared with PHP 3.0 billion a year ago. Total operating income was PHP 3.9 billion compared with PHP 4.9 billion a year ago. Income before income tax was PHP 1.4 billion compared with PHP 2.3 billion a year ago. Net income attributable to equity holders of the parent company was PHP 1.3 billion or PHP 2.15 per basic and diluted share compared with PHP 2.2 billion or PHP 3.63 per basic and diluted share a year ago. Capital expenditures were PHP 0.2 billion compared with PHP 0.16 billion a year ago. For the six months, the company's net interest income was PHP 5.8 billion compared with PHP 5.8 billion a year ago. Total operating income was PHP 10.2 billion compared with PHP 8.4 billion a year ago. Income before income tax was PHP 5.1 billion compared with PHP 3.99 billion a year ago. Net income attributable to equity holders of the parent company was PHP 4.7 billion or PHP 7.73 per basic and diluted share compared with PHP 3.6 billion or PHP 6.00 per basic and diluted share a year ago. This result was driven by healthy growth in the Bank's core businesses, with loan growth of 20% year- on-year to PHP 207 billion and deposit growth of 18% to PHP 257 billion, which fuelled a 15% year-on- year increase in Security Bank's total assets to PHP 442 billion. The bank announced that the growth in its first-half income was driven by healthy growth in the bank's core businesses. Net cash provided by operating activities was PHP 4.8 billion compared with PHP 8.4 billion a year ago. Acquisitions of property and equipment were PHP 0.42 billion compared with PHP 0.34 billion a year ago. Acquisitions of intangible assets were PHP 0.04 billion compared with PHP 0.19 billion a year ago. Return on assets was 2.25% compared with 1.91% a year ago. Return on equity was 18.83% compared with 17.22% a year ago.
