SCOR SE provides life and non-life reinsurance products. IT operates in two segments, SCOR Global P&C and SCOR Global Life. The SCOR Global P&C segment offers reinsurance products in the areas of property and casualty treaties; specialty lines, including credit and surety, inherent defects, aviation, space, marine, engineering, agriculture, and alternative solutions; business solutions; and business ventures and partnerships. The SCOR Global Life segment offers life reinsurance products, including protection for mortality, morbidity, behavioral, disability, long-term care, critical illness, health, and personal accident. This segment also provides financial solutions that combine traditional life reinsurance with financing components and provide liquidity, balance sheet, and income statement benefits for client; and longevity solutions that provide protection against the risk of negative deviation from expected results due to the insured or annuitant living longer than assumed. The company is also involved in the asset management business. SCOR SE was founded in 1970 and is headquartered in Paris, France.

SCOR group Announces Management Changes

SCOR group has named Laurent Bremond as group human resources director, reporting to Denis Kessler, chairman and CEO. Laurent Bremond began his career at Schlumberger, where he alternately held operational HR and specialist roles, based successively in the UK, Venezuela, France, the US and Colombia. Regional and then Divisional Human Resources Director at Invensys, he subsequently became Human Resources and Communications Director of the Faiveley Transport Group. Spencer Alridge is appointed Group Chief Compliance Officer, reporting to Romain Launay, General Secretary, with effect from 1 June 2015. He will be based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Spencer Alridge has began his career in 1992 at law firms in Charlotte, North Carolina as a civil litigator in private practice. In 2002 he joined the Transamerica Reinsurance legal department where he first managed global litigation and arbitration, and then law and compliance for non-US business operations in Asia-Pacific and Latin America, rising to Deputy General Counsel in 2007.

SCOR Places EUR 250 Million Dated Subordinated Notes

SCOR has successfully placed a dated subordinated notes issue on the Euro market in the amount of EUR 250 million. The proceeds of the issue will be used for general corporate purposes. SCOR also intends to call the balance of the USD subordinated step-up floating rate notes due 2029, and of the EUR subordinated step-up floating rate notes due 2020. These calls will take place on 25 June and 6 July 2015 respectively. The coupon has been set to 3.25% (until 4 June 2027), and resets every 10 years at the prevailing 10-year EUR mid-swap rate 3.20%. Settlement is expected to take place on 4 June 2015.

Alleghany Reportedly Rejects Scor Bid For TransRe

SCOR SE (ENXTPA:SCR) made $6 billion offer for Transatlantic Reinsurance Company, Inc. which was rejected by Alleghany Corporation (NYSE:Y), The Insurance Insider can reveal. Alleghany is said to have given Scor an indication that it would engage in talks if it was willing to stretch beyond its initial offer. However, given the valuation mismatch, Scor is thought to have shelved its interest.
