In addition, it provides funeral-related merchandise, including caskets, casket memorialization products, burial vaults, cremation receptacles, cremation memorialization products, flowers, and other ancillary products and services at funeral service locations. Further, its cemeteries provide cemetery property interment rights, including developed lots, lawn crypts, mausoleum spaces, cremation niches, and cremation memorialization property; sell cemetery-related merchandise and services, including stone and bronze memorials, markers, merchandise installations, flowers, and burial openings and closings; and sell preneed cemetery property interment rights, and funeral and cemetery merchandise and services. As of December 31, 2014, the company operated 1,559 funeral service locations; and 466 cemeteries, including 258 funeral service/cemetery combination locations covering 45 states, 8 Canadian provinces, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Service Corporation International was founded in 1962 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.

Service Corporation International Announces Consolidated Earnings Results for the Fourth Quarter and Year Ended December 31, 2014; Updates Earnings Guidance for the Year of 2015

Service Corporation International announced consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported revenue of $783.443 million against $667.228 million a year ago. Operating income was $87.995 million against $103.806 million a year ago. Income from continuing operations before income taxes was $177.591 million against $49.800 million a year ago. Net income from continuing operations was $86.609 million against $32.071 million a year ago. Net income attributable to common stockholders was $87.794 million or $0.42 per diluted share against $29.317 million or $0.14 per diluted share a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities, as reported was $61.2 million against $58.3 million a year ago. Total capital expenditures were $49.3 million against $33.4 million a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations excluding special items were $0.37 against $0.27 a year ago. CapEx for the quarter came in at approximately $48 million or $17 million higher than the prior year quarter, reflecting the addition of the Stewart businesses and resulting from higher cemetery development CapEx that occurred during the quarter. Capital improvements at existing facilities and cemetery development expenditures were expected to be in the range of $130 million to $140 million against the previously forecasted range of $130 million to $140 million. Free cash flow in 2015 is ranging from $310 million to $370 million or $340 million at the mid-point of this guidance range. The company’s guidance for capital spending in 2015 for maintenance and cemetery development remains unchanged and that's a range of $130 million to $140 million.

Service Corporation International Announces Quarterly Cash Dividend, Payable on March 31, 2015

Service Corporation International announced that Directors approved a quarterly cash dividend of ten cents per share of common stock. The quarterly cash dividend declared represents an 11% increase from previously declared dividends of nine cents per share of common stock per quarter. The quarterly cash dividend announced is payable on March 31, 2015 to shareholders of record at the close of business on March 16, 2015.
