Sarawak Oil Palms Berhad, together with its subsidiaries, cultivates oil palms and operates palm oil mills in Malaysia. The company offers plantation products, such as fresh fruit bunches; and milling products, including crude palm oil and palm kernel. As of December 31, 2013, it had a planted land bank of 63,530 hectares. The company is also involved in refining crude palm oil and crushing palm kernels into refined, bleached, and deodorised (RBD) palm oil; RBD olein; RBD stearin; palm fatty acid distillates; palm kernel expellers; and crude palm kernel oil through six palm oil mills. In addition, it is engaged in providing IT and insurance services; and managing and maintaining roads and barges, as well as in property development, and sales and marketing agency activities. Sarawak Oil Palms Berhad was founded in 1968 and is headquartered in Miri, Malaysia.

Sarawak Oil Palms Bhd announced the group production results for the month of February 2015. For the month, the company reported FFB production of 60,234 million tonnes, crude palm oil production of 20,107 million tonnes and palm kernel production of 4,443 million tonnes.

Sarawak Oil Palms Bhd Announces Consolidated Unaudited Earnings Results for the Fourth Quarter and Full Year Ended December 31, 2014; Announces Impairment Charges for the Fourth Quarter Ended December 31, 2014

Sarawak Oil Palms Bhd announced consolidated unaudited earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported revenue of MYR 863,734,000 against MYR 498,441,000 a year ago. Profit before tax was MYR 12,373,000 against profit before tax of MYR 46,723,000 a year ago. This was attributed principally to the lower palm products average realized prices, and unexpected lower fresh fruit bunch (FFB) production volume. Profit attributable to owners of the company was MYR 9,131,000 against profit of MYR 31,054,000 a year ago. Earnings per diluted share were 2.06 sen against 7.05 sen a year ago. The increase in revenue was mainly attributing to higher trading volume of palm oil products transacted by the group. For the full year, the company reported revenue of MYR 2,852,762,000 against MYR 1,711,402,000 a year ago. Profit before tax was MYR 160,275,000 against MYR 139,631,000 a year ago. Profit attributable to owners of the company was MYR 112,758,000 against MYR 91,805,000 a year ago. Earnings per diluted share were 25.45 sen against 20.70 sen a year ago. Net cash flows used in operating activities was MYR 134,371,000 against MYR 190,867,000 a year ago. Acquisition of property, plant and equipment was MYR 148,356,000 against MYR 121,579,000 a year ago. Additions of land use rights were MYR 17,484,000 against MYR 35,697,000 a year ago. Increase in land held for property development was MYR 17,813,000 against MYR 3,635,000 a year ago. The increase in profit before tax was mainly due to the better palm products average realized prices and improved fresh fruit bunch production from plantation estates. The company announced property, plant and equipment written off of MYR 26,000 for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2014.
