Saab Signs Contract with Airbus for A321 ACF Door Plug

Saab has signed a contract with Airbus to become a supplier on the A321 Airbus Cabin Flex Programme. The agreement covers design, development and manufacturing of the Door Plug 3 and Cover Plate.

Britain Orders More Saab Radar Systems

Britain's Ministry of Defense has ordered additional Giraffe AMB radars from Saab as well as upgrades to Giraffe systems already in use. The contract is worth about $72.9 million. Deliveries will start this year and continue until 2018. The Giraffe system is a Passive electronically scanned array radar-based surveillance and air defense command-and-control system. It provides a full 360-degree update of the air situation to a distance of about 74 miles every second. The upgrade to Britain's existing systems will enhance the radar's performance and capacity and will enable later addition of a capability to detect small unmanned aerial vehicles and screen out clutter, such as birds.

Saab AB Receives SEK 610 million Order for Giraffe AMB Radar Systems from UK Ministry of Defence

Saab AB announced that it has received orders from the UK Ministry of Defence for additional Giraffe AMB radar systems plus upgrades of the existing systems and associated equipment. This order, valued at approximately SEK 610 million, has deliveries scheduled to start during the second half of 2015 and continue until 2018. The Giraffe AMB radar provides a full 360 degrees update of the air situation out to 120 kilometres every second. It can operate in challenging environments such as mountains, complex coastal regions and wind farm areas. Also, this upgrade will take the UK's existing systems to the same production-build standard as the new Giraffe AMB, enhancing the primary radar's performance and capacity. It also keeps the UK's radars in line with the Giraffe product roadmap.
