Remy International, Inc. designs, manufactures, remanufactures, markets, and distributes rotating electrical components for automobiles, light trucks, heavy-duty trucks, and other vehicles primarily in North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia. Its principal products comprise starters and alternators used in gasoline; diesel, natural gas, and alternative fuel engines for light vehicle, commercial vehicle, industrial, construction, and agricultural applications; and hybrid electric motors that are used in light and commercial vehicles comprising construction, public transit, and agricultural applications. The company’s principal products also consists of remanufactured power assemblies for locomotive diesel engines; and remanufactured multi-line products, including steering gears, brake calipers, and constant velocity axles for light and commercial vehicle applications. It offers its products to original equipment manufacturers for factory installation on new vehicles; and aftermarket customers primarily consisting of retailers and warehouse distributors, as well as for the original equipment service market. The company sells and distributes its products through its direct sales force under the Delco Remy, Remy, World Wide Automotive, and USA Industries brand names, as well as customers' private label brand names. Remy International, Inc. was founded in 1896 and is headquartered in Pendleton, Indiana.

Remy International, Inc. Introduces 31 New Light Duty Parts

Remy International, Inc. introduced 31 new light duty parts for the first quarter of 2015. These starters and alternators are for model years 2013 and 2014, adding coverage for 2.1 million vehicles in operation. Remy has substantially strengthened its late-model import coverage: 1.3 million vehicles are imports, including VW, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, Subaru, and Honda. 800,000 are domestic, including Chevrolet, GMC, Ford, Cadillac, Buick, Chrysler, and Jeep.

Remy International, Inc. Introduces New Line of High-Output Alternators

Remy International, Inc. has introduced a complete line of high-output alternators, ranging from 170 up to 430Amps. To design their high-output/high-efficiency series alternators such as the 40SI and 55SI, Remy engineers evaluated power loss and inefficiencies at every stage of power generation, down to the component level. They utilized a breakthrough brushless design, remote sense technologies and new design concepts, to improve output and fuel efficiency by as much as 28%. These new alternators have been rigorously tested - on the road and on the bench with repeatable, quantifiable results. Three different types of applications were examined: a line haul tractor, a city tractor, and a school bus. Precisely measured real-time data was collected to determine the input profiles.

Remy International, Inc. Announces Executive Changes

Remy International, Inc. announced that effective March 3, 2015, Albert E. VanDenBergh, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the company, became the company's principal financial officer. Barbara J. Bitzer, who has been performing the duties of the principal financial officer on an interim basis since October 29, 2014, has ceased performing those duties and will continue to serve as the company's Vice President, Global Controller and Chief Accounting Officer.
