Red Electrica de Espana reported earnings results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2015. The company reported that profit for the second quarter ended June 30, 2015 was EUR 142.76 million, compared to EUR 131.3 million for the same quarter ended June 30, 2014. Revenue for the second quarter ended June 30, 2015 was EUR 485.7 million, compared to EUR 463.18 million for the same quarter ended June 30, 2014.

Red Eléctrica Corporación S A. announced group earnings results for first half ended June 2015. The company has reported a net profit of EUR 309 million for the first half of 2015. This figure is 6.5% higher than that achieved in the same period last year. The company reported its financial results, made investments worth EUR 225.8 million, 90% of which were earmarked for the development of the Spanish transmission grid. Net revenue for the first six months of 2015 amounted to EUR 972.7 million, representing a growth of 5% on the same period last year. This figure includes income from facilities commissioned in 2014 and 41.5 million from the telecommunications business. Gross operating result (EBITDA) reached 740.3 million, representing a growth of 6.6% over the first six months of 2014. Its performance is linked to the evolution experienced by revenue and the growth in operating costs, which increased 3.3% compared to the previous year. EBIT was EUR 507.1 million against EUR 485.3 million a year ago. Profit before taxes was EUR 428.6 million against EUR 414.9 million a year ago. The growth in EBIT was limited to 4.5% year-on-year due to the sharp 12.5% increase in amortization and depreciation of noncurrent assets as a result of the startups in 2014, including the new interconnection with France and also the impact of the depreciation of the use in management rights of ADIF's fiber optic network. Debt at June 30, 2015 stood at just over EUR 5 billion. Strong cash flow generation was mainly attributable to the improved results.

On 28 July, the Board of Directors of The Red Eléctrica Group approved the appointment of John Lasala as Chief Executive Officer of the company. Mr. Lasala was appointed Executive Director of the company at the extraordinary general shareholders' meeting held on 17 July.
