radware ltd (RDWR) Key Developments

China Railway Deploys Radware Ltd.'s ADC Solutions

Radware Ltd. announced that China Railway has deployed a series of Radware's application delivery controller, or ADC, solutions in the second phase of its e-Ticketing System. Due to the exponential growth of internet users accessing China Railway's online site on a 24/7 basis, they faced network challenges on their eTicketing system. In order to address this issue, they were in need of a secure and robust platform to help maintain a robust level of customer satisfaction. Through a stringent selection process and proof of concept, China Railway selected Radware's Alteon NG 6420 and Alteon NG 5224 ADCs, to help build their next generation platform. Radware's ADCs provide superior performance coupled with advanced capabilities such as virtualization, integrated application acceleration and on-demand scalability needed to effectively meet the needs of the data center and network of a large enterprise, like China Railway. In addition, both Alteon platforms allows customers to only pay for the exact capacity they use, which helps prevent overspending. Helping extend China Railway's investment, additional throughput capacity, acceleration capabilities, application-aware services and multiple vADC instances can easily be added on demand to meet new business requirements through a simple software license upgrade with no forklift upgrades of the device, nor service interruption. Additionally, China Railway also enhances its customer's Quality of Experience by using the embedded Application Performance Management module, which will provide real time visibility on what is actually being used and offers a 'drilldown' of information for fast and accurate root-cause resolution.

Radware and Cisco Sign OEM Agreement for DDoS Mitigation

Radware announced it has provided to Cisco Systems Inc. its distributed denial of service (DDoS) mitigation technology for the new Cisco Firepower 9300 appliance designed for service providers. Cisco Systems selected Radware’s DDoS mitigation technology for its ability to accurately detect and mitigate cyber threats - in particular those targeting application availability - in the shortest amount of time. Radware’s DDoS mitigation technology is a real-time, behavioral based, mitigation solution that helps protect against security threats targeted at the availability of the protected service, without blocking legitimate user traffic. DDoS mitigation powered by Radware, combined with Cisco’s threat-centric security solutions on the Firepower 9300 appliance, will help detect anomalous behavior on the network and protect service providers, their customers and their data from advanced threats – before, during and after an attack. Through this tightly integrated security approach, Cisco can provide enhanced agility by allowing security to dynamically follow workloads and data flows through open and programmable networks. This can help service providers avoid problems traditional security service silos present.

Radware Launches New Device Fingerprinting Technology to Mitigate Malicious Bot Attacks

Radware announced enhanced protection from threats posed by advanced bots through its Attack Mitigation System. This major enhancement now gives Radware customers the ability to track end user devices without the need for Internet Protocol (IP) address. Fingerprinting technology is used to precisely identify application users or website visitors who have a history of malicious behavior, and are often part of a botnet. Businesses that conduct a high volume of online transactions are plagued by bots that can exhaust application resources, scrape sensitive information from websites illegitimately and seek vulnerabilities through application logic abuse. In order to protect applications from advanced bots or even collective human threats, website operators need more advanced user/client identification that can detect and block illegitimate users. Accurate device-level identification allows for effective protection from traffic that can allude IP address based security measures. This includes malicious traffic coming through content delivery networks (CDNs) with whitelisted IPs, traffic using dynamic hosting configuration that results in a new IP address each time they access the Internet. Device fingerprinting can also improve identification of malicious users accessing the Internet through Network Address Translation (NAT) devices that result in many devices sharing the same IP address, and anonymous proxy services that make it difficult to block IPs without potentially blocking legitimate users/devices. Device fingerprinting further bolsters the Radware Attack Mitigation System, a solution to protect an enterprise’s infrastructure against network and application downtime, application vulnerability exploitation, malware spread, network anomalies, information theft and other types of attack.
