Royal Dutch Shell plc operates as an independent oil and gas company worldwide. It operates through Upstream and Downstream segments. The company explores for and extracts crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids. It also converts natural gas to liquids to provide fuels and other products; markets and trades natural gas; extracts bitumen from mined oil sands and converts it to synthetic crude oil; and generates electricity from wind energy. In addition, the company engages in manufacturing, supplying, and shipping crude oil; selling fuels, lubricants, bitumen, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for home, transport, and industrial use; converting crude oil into a range of refined products, including gasoline, diesel, heating oil, aviation fuel, marine fuel, lubricants, bitumen, sulphur, and LPG; producing and marketing petrochemicals, such as the raw materials for plastics, coatings, and detergents for industrial customers; and alternative energy business. Further, it trades hydrocarbons and other energy-related products; provides shipping services; and produces base chemicals comprising ethylene, propylene, and aromatics, as well as intermediate chemicals, such as styrene monomer, propylene oxide, solvents, detergent alcohols, ethylene oxide, and ethylene glycol. The company holds interests in approximately 24 refineries; 1,500 storage tanks; and 150 distribution facilities. It sells fuels under the Shell V-Power brand. Royal Dutch Shell plc is headquartered in The Hague, the Netherlands.

Royal Dutch Shell plc Announces Dividend for the Second Quarter of 2015, Payable on September 21, 2015

Royal Dutch Shell plc announced an interim dividend in respect of the second quarter of 2015 of USD 0.47 per A ordinary share and B ordinary share, equal to the USD dividend for the same quarter last year. In the case of B shares, the dividends will be payable through the dividend access mechanism and are expected to be treated as UK-source rather than Dutch-source. The dividends are payable on September 21, 2015 with record date August 14, 2015. The ex-dividend date RDS A and RDS B ADS is August 12, 2015 and ex-dividend date RDS A and RDS B shares is August 13, 2015.

Royal Dutch Shell plc reported unaudited consolidated earnings and production results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2015. The company's second-quarter net income fell 25% to $3.9 billion as the prolonged impact of lower crude prices continues to hurt the bottom line. For the quarter, the company reported revenue of $72,402 million, income before taxation of $5,572 million and income attributable to shareholders of the company of $3,986 million or $0.62 per diluted share compared to revenue of $111,222 million, income before taxation of $9,123 million and income attributable to shareholders of the company of $5,307 million or $0.84 per diluted share reported in the same period last year. Net cash from operating activities was $8,641 million against $12,444 million and capital expenditure was $7,872 million against $8,987 million reported last year. Earnings were impacted by the significant decline in oil and gas prices and decreased production volumes, partly offset by lower costs and depreciation. For the six months, the company reported revenue of $138,108 million, income before taxation of $11,411 million and income attributable to shareholders of the company of $8,416 million or $1.32 per diluted share compared to revenue of $220,880 million, income before taxation of $17,668 million and income attributable to shareholders of the company of $9,816 million or $1.56 per diluted share in the same period last year. Net cash from operating activities was $13,156 million against $22,625 million and capital expenditure was $12,420 million against $15,062 million reported last year. Second quarter 2015 production was 2,731,000 boe/d compared with 3,077,000 boe/d a year ago. Liquids production decreased by 4% and natural gas production decreased by 18% compared with the second quarter 2014. Compared with the second quarter 2014, production volumes were negatively impacted by 131,000 boe/d due to higher planned maintenance activities. Half year 2015 production was 2,948,000 boe/d compared with 3,160,000 boe/d for the same period a year ago. Liquids production was in line with the first half year 2014 and natural gas production decreased by 13%. Excluding the impact of divestments, curtailment and underground storage reinjection at NAM in the Netherlands, Abu Dhabi license expiry, PSC price effects, and security impacts in Nigeria, first half year 2015 production was 1% lower than for the same period last year.
