Rogers Communications Inc. operates as a communications and media company in Canada. Its Wireless segment provides wireless voice and high-speed data communication services to consumers and businesses under the Rogers, Fido, and Chatr brands; and wireless devices and applications. This segment distributes its products through independent dealer networks, company-owned and other retail chains, convenience stores, ecommerce sites, and call centers and outbound telemarketing. As of December 31, 2013, it had approximately 9.5 million subscribers. The company’s Cable segment provides digital television and online viewing, high-speed broadband Internet access, and cable telephony services for consumers and businesses. This segment distributes its products through company-owned and other retail stores, ecommerce sites, call centers, outbound telemarketing, door-to-door agents, and third party retail locations. It has 2.1 million television, 2.0 million high-speed Internet, and 1.2 million telephony subscribers, as well as operates a network that passes approximately 4 million homes. The Business Solutions segment provides voice, data, networking, data centre, and cloud based services for medium and large businesses, governments, and other telecommunications providers. This segment distributes its products through enterprise and carrier wholesale sales force, as well as through a network of third-party channel distributors. The Media segment operates approximately 50 AM and FM radio stations; operates conventional and specialty television networks; publishes consumer magazines; offers marketing, medical, financial, and trade publications; provides online publications and access to a catalogue of 100 Canadian and U.S. magazine titles; operates online and mobile digital media platforms; owns the Toronto Blue Jays, a Major League Baseball team; and owns the Rogers Centre event venue. The company was founded in 1920 and is headquartered in Toronto, Canada.

Rogers Communications Inc. announced the appointment of Dirk Woessner to President of the Consumer Business Unit, effective April 6, 2015. Woessner joins Rogers from Deutsche Telekom. As President of the Consumer Business Unit, Woessner will be responsible for delivering the company's Consumer business strategy, including product development, sales channel operations, pricing and customer base management. Rogers Commits $4 Million to Wavefront to Fuel Growth of Entrepreneurs Across Canada

Rogers Communications announced a funding commitment of approximately $4 million to Wavefront to accelerate the growth of machine-to-machine (M2M), the Internet of Things (IoT) and wireless businesses in Canada. Over the next five years, Rogers will offer financial resources, technology tools, training and mentorship programs to thousands of technology businesses and entrepreneurs that walk through Wavefront's doors.
