The company’s Commercial Banking segment offers banking, finance, and risk management services to commercial, mid-corporate, and corporate sectors in the United Kingdom through a network of relationship managers, and telephone and Internet channels. Its product range includes invoice finance through the RBSIF brand and asset finance through the Lombard brand. The company’s Private Banking segment provides banking and wealth management services in the United Kingdom; and offshore banking services. Its Corporate & Institutional Banking segment offers debt financing, risk management, and trade services to corporate and institutional clients primarily in the United Kingdom and Western Europe, as well as in the United States and Asia. The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc was founded in 1727 and is headquartered in Edinburgh, the United Kingdom.

The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc Announces Board Appointments

The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc announced that Sir Howard Davies will take over as Chairman of the company on 1 September 2015. It had been proposed for him to join the Board as a non-executive director with effect from June 23, 2015 annual general meeting. However, given his commitment to the UK Airports Commission, until its final report is published, Sir Howard's appointment as a non-executive director will be subject to a short delay.

Advisor To Be Announced For RBS Privatization

Jim O'Neil, global head of Bank of America Merrill Lynch's financial institutions group, is expected to be announced the advisor for privatization of The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc (LSE:RBS) later in June 2015, the Financial Times reported. RBS invited investment banks to pitch for enlarged corporate broking mandates that include a new role as privatization advisers. Bank of America Merrill Lynch's appointment will mean that it replaces UBS in the role alongside Morgan Stanley.

Goldman Sachs To Advise On RBS And Lloyds Sell Off

Goldman Sachs will pay a key role in selling off the taxpayer stakes in Lloyds Banking Group plc (LSE:LLOY) and The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc (LSE:RBS). Goldman Sachs is replacing JP Morgan in advising UK Financial Investments, the body which looks after the taxpayer stakes in the bailed-out banks.
