Chemical and Mining Company of Chile Inc. is engaged in the production and distribution of specialty plant nutrients, iodine and its derivatives, lithium and its derivatives, potassium chloride and potassium sulfate, industrial chemicals, and other commodity fertilizers. The company’s specialty plant nutrients include potassium nitrate, sodium nitrate, sodium potassium nitrate, and specialty blends for crops, such as vegetables, fruits, and flowers, as well as Ultrasol for application through fertigation; Qrop for field application; Speedfol for foliar application; and Allganic for organic farming. Its iodine and iodine derivatives are used in a range of medical, pharmaceutical, agricultural, and industrial applications, including X-ray contrast media, polarizing films for liquid crystal displays, antiseptics, biocides and disinfectants in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, herbicides, electronics, pigments, and dye components. The company’s lithium and its derivatives include lithium carbonate for use in various applications comprising electrochemical materials for batteries, frits for the ceramic and enamel industries, heat-resistant glass, air conditioning chemicals, continuous casting powder for steel extrusion, primary aluminum smelting process, pharmaceuticals, and lithium derivatives; and lithium hydroxide, which is used as a raw material in the lubricating grease, dyes, and battery industries. Its potassium chloride is used as a commodity fertilizer; and potassium sulfate is used as a specialty fertilizer. The company’s industrial chemicals comprise sodium nitrate, potassium nitrate, boric acid, solar salts, and potassium chloride. It also sells other fertilizers and blends. The company sells its products through a distribution network in approximately 100 countries worldwide. Chemical and Mining Company of Chile Inc. was founded in 1968 and is headquartered in Santiago, Chile.

Sociedad Qu mica y Minera de Chile S.A. Recommends Dividend, Payable on May 8, 2015

Sociedad Qu mica y Minera de Chile S.A. announced that its Board of Directors, who met in an Ordinary Meeting on March 24, 2015, unanimously agreed to recommend at the next Annual General Shareholders' Meeting of SQM to distribute and pay, by way of final dividend, 50% of the distributable net income obtained by SQM during the exercise of the fiscal year 2014. Therefore, and subject to the approval of SQM's shareholders at the next Annual Meeting on April 24 of this year, the Company shall pay a final dividend of $0.56304 per share as a consequence of the distributable net income obtained during the 2014 business year. Nevertheless, the amount of $0.41493 must be deducted from said definitive dividend, which was already paid as an provisional dividend, and the balance, in the amount of $0.14811 per share, shall be paid and distributed to SQM's Shareholders who are registered in the respective Registry by the fifth business day before the day on which the same shall be paid. Said amount, if applicable, shall be paid in the equivalent in Chilean national currency according to the value of the "Observed Dollar" or "US Dollar" that appears published in the Official Gazette on April 24, 2015. This shall be paid to the corresponding shareholders, in person or through their duly authorized representatives, as on May 8 of this year.
