Spartan Energy Corp. operates as an oil and natural gas exploration and production company in Canada and the United States. The company’s principal properties include the southeast Saskatchewan properties, which consist of approximately 175,000 net acres of land focused primarily on conventional open-hole horizontal wells drilled on Mississippian oil plays, including the Frobisher, Alida, Souris Valley, Tilston, and Midale formations; and the west central Saskatchewan property that comprises approximately 12,441 gross acres of land targeting the Viking formation. Its properties also include the Alexander property located northwest of Edmonton; the Manitoba property, which includes approximately 2,276 net acres of land in the Waskada area of southwest Manitoba targeting the Spearfish/Amaranth formation; and the North Dakota property that comprises 6,910 net acres of land located in Renville County, North Dakota. The company was formerly known as Alexander Energy Ltd. and changed its name to Spartan Energy Corp. in February 2014. Spartan Energy Corp. was incorporated in 1988 and is headquartered in Calgary, Canada.

Spartan Energy Corp. reported audited earnings results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported funds flow from operations of CAD 29,823,000 or CAD 0.10 per share diluted against CAD 884,000 or CAD 0.03 per share diluted a year ago. Net income was CAD 1,855,000 or CAD 0.01 per share diluted against net loss of CAD 1,718,000 or CAD 0.07 per share diluted a year ago. Capital expenditures were CAD 42,219,000 against CAD 418,000 a year ago. For the year, the company reported funds flow from operations of CAD 85,793,000 or CAD 0.36 per share diluted against CAD 6,925,000 or CAD 0.38 per share diluted a year ago. We believe that our disciplined approach has positioned Spartan to take advantage of additional acquisition opportunities that may arise in 2015."
