Petronas Gas Berhad operates as a gas infrastructure and utilities company in Malaysia. The company engages in separating natural gas into components; and storing, transporting, distributing, and selling such components to industrial utilities. It operates through four segments: Gas Processing, Gas Transportation, Utilities, and Regasification. The Gas Processing segment processes natural gas from gas fields offshore the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia; and sells gas and other by-products, such as ethane, propane, and butane. This segment operates six processing plants in Terengganu. The Gas Transportation segment manages peninsular gas utilization grid in West Malaysia and gas distribution systems in Miri and Bintulu in East Malaysia, which transports processed gas to its customers. This segment also manages the pipeline in Kimanis, Sabah; and exports its products to Singapore. The Utilities segment manufactures, markets, and supplies industrial utilities, including electricity, steam, and industrial gases, as well as other by-products, such as liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, demineralized water, raw water, cooling water, and boiler feed water to the Kertih petrochemical complexes in the Terengganu and Gebeng industrial area in Pahang. The Regasification segment engages in the regasification of liquefied natural gas. This segment operates and maintains offshore liquefied natural gas regasification terminal in Sungai Udang, Melaka. The company was founded in 1983 and is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Petronas Gas Berhad is a subsidiary of Petroliam Nasional Berhad.

Petronas Gas Bhd reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported revenue of MYR 1,101,313,000 compared to MYR 1,054,258,000 a year ago. Operating profit was MYR 568,445,000 compared to MYR 545,521,000 a year ago. Profit before taxation was MYR 571,291,000 compared to MYR 543,206,000 a year ago. Profit attributable to shareholders of the company was MYR 449,971,000 or 22.74 sen basic and diluted per share compared to MYR 418,004,000 or 21.12 sen basic and diluted per share a year ago. Net cash generated from operating activities was MYR 636,958,000 compared to MYR 551,085,000 a year ago. Purchase of property, plant and equipment was MYR 188,628,000 compared to MYR 256,030,000 a year ago. The increase in revenue is primarily attributable to higher regasification charge under the new GPA effective from April 01, 2014, partially offset by lower performance based structure income as a result of plant’s lower liquid extraction performance compared to target.
