PPL Corporation is increasing its common stock dividend to $0.3775 per share on a quarterly basis. The increased dividend will be payable Oct. 1, 2015 to shareowners of record as of Sept. 10, 2015. The company also increased 2015 ongoing earnings forecast to midpoint of $2.20 per share from $2.15 per share- Increases annualized common stock dividend to $1.51 per share. Per-share earnings from ongoing operations increase by 11% in second quarter and 15% in first half compared to 2014.

PPL Corporation Reports Unaudited Consolidated Earnings Results for the Second Quarter and Six Months Ended June 30, 2015; Revised Earnings Guidance for 2015

PPL Corporation reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported total operating revenue of $1,781 million against $1,849 million last year. Operating income was $638 million against $678 million last year. Income from continuing operations before income taxes was $321 million against $396 million last year. Income from continuing operations after income taxes was $250 million or $0.37 per basic and diluted share against $230 million or $0.34 per diluted share last year. Net loss was $757 million or $1.13 per basic and diluted share against net income of $229 million or $0.34 per diluted share last year. Adjusting for special items, including results from discontinued operations of PPL's former Supply segment, second-quarter 2015 earnings from ongoing operations were $329 million, or $0.49 per share, an increase of more than 11% from $296 million in earnings from ongoing operations (adjusted), or $0.44 per share, in the second quarter of 2014. For the six months, the company reported total operating revenue of $4,011 million against $4,027 million last year. Operating income was $1,528 million against $1,479 million last year. Income from continuing operations before income taxes was $1,090 million against $952 million last year. Income from continuing operations after income taxes was $802 million or $1.19 per diluted share against $619 million or $0.94 per diluted share last year. Net loss was $757 million or $0.17 per basic and diluted share against net income of $229 million or $0.83 per diluted share last year. Net cash provided by operating activities was $1,313 million against $1,583 million last year. Expenditures for property, plant and equipment was $1,679 million against $1,678 million last year. Expenditures for intangible assets were $24 million against $24 million last year. Book value per share was $14.85 against $20.68 at June 30, 2014. For the 12 months ended June 30, 2015, return on average common equity was 8.0% against 6.8% last year. For the 12 months ended June 30, 2015, return on average common equity - earnings from ongoing operations was 10.8% against 13.6% last year. Earnings from ongoing operations for the first half of 2015 were $848 million, or $1.26 per share. This compares to earnings from ongoing operations (adjusted) of $722 million, or $1.10 per share, in the first half of 2014, representing a 15% increase on a per-share basis. Based on the strong performance of PPL's seven regulated utility businesses in both the U.S. and the U.K., the continued rate base growth from significant infrastructure investment, and solid business plan to grow earnings per share, the company increased midpoint of 2015 earnings forecast. The company narrowed its 2015 forecast range for earnings per share from ongoing operations to $2.15 to $2.25 from $2.05 to $2.25, increasing the midpoint from $2.15 per share to $2.20 per share. The 2015 forecast for reported earnings per share is $0.72 to $0.82, reflecting special items recorded through the second quarter.
