ppg industries inc (PPG) Key Developments

PPG Industries Inc. Introduces SPECTRACRON SEP Wet-On-Wet Epoxy Primer

PPG Industries Inc. has announced that its industrial coatings business has introduced SPECTRACRON SEP primer, a two-component, or 2K, wet-on-wet epoxy primer that is designed to help original equipment manufacturers, or OEMs, increase production throughput without sacrificing corrosion resistance. By reducing flash times to two minutes, Spectracron SEP primer is enabling OEMs to increase production rates without sacrificing quality while achieving cost savings in other areas of their operation. Spectracron SEP primer can be used on production lines with 5-, 10- and 30-minute flash times, enabling OEMs to simplify stocking and reduce inventory. The product also provides higher-gloss finishes with no solvent-pop or soak-in issues, as well as improved corrosion resistance, cycle times, masking performance and handling. Operational benefits include low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions, easier application, reduced fluid flows and flush solvents, and lower paint costs. Spectracron SEP primer is engineered for use in all areas of the heavy-duty equipment market and is well-suited for transportation and general finishing as well as propane, water and storage tanks. It is available in green and buff colors, and it may be formulated in other colors for specific applications or customers.
