In addition, the company operates an Internet-based career and recruitment business; an online advertising network; an Internet group buying business; and real estate Internet advertising business. Further, it operates rooftop solar power plants; and owns and operates hydropower facilities. Additionally, the company holds interests in various companies in oil and gas, electricity, energy services, water and waste management services, specialty minerals, cement, aggregates and concrete, and wines and spirits, as well as testing, inspection, and certification. Power Corporation of Canada was founded in 1925 and is headquartered in Montréal, Canada.

Power Corporation of Canada announced unaudited earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported income from investments of CAD 21 million against CAD 11 million a year ago. Operating earnings attributable to participating shareholders was CAD 350 million against CAD 234 million a year ago. Net earnings attributable to participating shareholders was CAD 350 million or CAD 0.76 per share against CAD 206 million or CAD 0.51 per share a year ago.
