ProAmerica Bank Announces Executive Changes

ProAmerica Bank announced that L. Bruce Mills, who has served as the President and CEO of ProAmerica Bank, has announced his resignation, effective March 31, 2015, to pursue other interests. ProAmerica Bank Director, Sal Varela was named acting President and CEO, and will serve in that position until a permanent replacement is found. Mr. Varela is a founding shareholder of the Company and has served on its Board of Directors and chaired the Board's Loan Committee since the Bank's founding. He previously served as the Director and Vice Chairman of the Board of another Los Angeles-based community bank for more than 10 years and led one of the country's large insurance financial services agencies for Equitable-AXA Advisors.

For the quarter, the company reported total interest income of $1,702,000 against $1,685,000 a year ago. Net interest income was $1,573,000 against $1,565,000 a year ago. Pre-tax income was $308,000 against $772,000 a year ago. Net income was $182,000 against $3,721,000 a year ago. Earnings per share – diluted were $0.06 against $1.32 a year ago. Book value per common share was $8.78 against $8.54 a year ago. Return on average assets was 0.44% against 9.90% a year ago. Return on average common equity was 3.00% against 70.00% a year ago. Adjusted income from operations (income before provisions for loan losses and income taxes) was $648,000 compared to $772,000 in the fourth quarter of 2013. For the full year, the company reported total interest income of $6,775,000 against $6,506,000 a year ago. Net interest income was $6,310,000 against $6,024,000 a year ago.
