Pargesa Holding SA operates in various industry and service sectors in Switzerland, Europe, North America, and internationally. The company’s Holdings segment engages in the management of investments. Its Imerys segment operates through four business groups: Energy Solutions & Specialties, Filtration & Performance Additives, Ceramic Materials, and High Resistance Minerals. The Energy Solutions & Specialties business group offers functional additives used in construction and in paper production, such as plastics, paints, etc.; monolithic refractories for high-temperature industries comprising steelmaking, casting, petrochemicals, glass, cement, etc.; and mineral specialties for mobile energy, electronics, and unconventional oil exploration. The Filtration & Performance Additives group provides mineral agents for the filtration of food liquids; and mineral specialties for plastics, paints, polymers, and paper used for construction, consumer goods, and durable goods. The Ceramic Materials group offers clay roof tiles, as well as provides minerals for tiles, sanitary ware, tableware, technical ceramics paints, plastics, and paper. The High Resistance Minerals group offers fused minerals for abrasives; and minerals for refractories used in high temperature industries, such as steelmaking, casting, energy generating, etc. The company was founded in 1958 and is based in Geneva, Switzerland. Pargesa Holding SA is a subsidiary of Parjointco NV.

For the quarter, the company announced operating earnings of CHF 153 million compared with CHF 198 million in 2014. Net earnings were CHF 312 million compared with CHF 330 million in the corresponding quarter in 2014. For the six months, the company announced operating earnings of CHF 207 million compared with CHF 148 million in the same period in 2014. Net earnings were CHF 399 million compared with CHF 378 million in the corresponding period in 2014.

Pargesa Holding SA announced unaudited consolidated financial results for the first half of 2015. For the period, operating income was CHF 2,362.8 million compared to CHF 2,409.1 million a year ago. Operating profit was CHF 754.9 million compared to CHF 816.5 million a year ago. Consolidated net profit (before minority interests) was CHF 854.1 million compared to CHF 814.5 million a year ago. Net profit attributable to Pargesa shareholders (Group share) was 398.6 million or CHF 4.71 per basic share compared to CHF 378.0 million or CHF 4.47 per basic share a year ago.
