The company was formerly known as Provident Clothing and Supply Co Ltd. and changed its name to Provident Financial plc in 1962. Provident Financial plc was founded in 1880 and is headquartered in Bradford, United Kingdom.

Provident Financial plc Announces Consolidated Unaudited Earnings Results for the Six Months Ended June 30, 2015

Provident Financial plc announced consolidated unaudited earnings results for the six months ended June 30, 2015. For the period, the company reported revenue of £555.3 million against £533.8 million a year ago. Profit before taxation was £111.1 million against £90.1 million a year ago. Profit for the year attributable to equity shareholders of the company was £88.6 million or 60.9 pence per diluted share against £70.7 million or 51.0 pence per diluted share a year ago. Net cash generated from operating activities was £100.8 million against £115.5 million a year ago. Purchase of intangible assets was £6.9 million against £3.5 million a year ago. Purchase of property, plant and equipment were £5.0 million against £2.8 million a year ago. Adjusted profit before tax was £126.6 million against £94.1 million a year ago. Statutory profit before tax was £111.1 million against £90.1 million a year ago. Annualized return on assets was 15.6% against 14.9% a year ago. Profit before taxation, amortisation of acquisition intangibles and exceptional costs were £126.6 million against £94.1 million a year ago. Return on assets strengthened due to the successful repositioning of the home credit business. Adjusted earnings per share grew by 29.9%, a lower rate than pre-tax profits due to the placing of shares to acquire Moneybarn partly offset by the reduction in the statutory rate of UK corporation tax from 21% to 20% on April 1, 2015. The group has reported first half profit before tax, amortisation of acquisition intangibles and exceptional costs up 34.5% reflecting strong growth and margins in Vanquis Bank, an improved profit performance in CCD and a contribution of £9.4 million from Moneybarn which was acquired in August 2014.

Provident Financial plc Declares Interim Dividend for the Six Months Ended June 30, 2015, Payable on November 27, 2015

The directors of Provident Financial plc have declared an interim dividend in respect of the six months ended 30 June 2015 of 39.2 pence per share which will amount to an estimated dividend payment of £56.6 million. The interim dividend will be paid on 27 November 2015 to shareholders on the register at the close of business on 30 October 2015. Dividend warrants/vouchers will be posted on 25 November 2015.
