Petmin Limited Reports Operational Results for the Nine Months Ended March 31, 2015

Petmin Limited reported operational results for the nine months ended March 31, 2015. The somkhele team further reduced production cost per tonne by 9% from ZAR 694 to ZAR 634 per tonne. Production of metallurgical anthracite for the period increased by 23% to 1,015,270 tonnes compared to 827,983 tonnes in 2014. Sales volumes for the nine month period increased by 35% to 946,013 tonnes. Energy production increased by 58% to 270,801 tonnes for the period compared to 171,100 tonnes in 2014. Demand for the product has been strong, with 274,786 tonnes sold in the nine month period compared to 52,809 tonnes in 2014. While sales volumes have improved in 2015, average export prices for the nine months ended March 30, 2015 were some 8% lower than in2014 and average inland prices reduced by 1%. Orders have been received for 1.1 million tonnes of an estimated 1.2 million tonnes of anthracite production for the year ending June 30, 2015 and orders have been received for all of the estimated 46,000 tonnes of energy coal production for the year ending June 30, 2015.

Petmin Limited announced consolidated audited earnings and production results for the six months ended December 31, 2014. For the period, the company reported revenue of ZAR 693,939,000 against ZAR 355,888,000 a year ago. Profit from operating activities was ZAR 87,220,000 against ZAR 76,537,000 a year ago. Profit before income tax was ZAR 69,047,000 against ZAR 51,425,000 a year ago. After-tax profit for the period up 45% to ZAR 47 million or ZAR 8.40 per basic and diluted share against ZAR 32 million or ZAR 5.68 per basic and diluted share a year ago. Normalized earnings per share were up 8% from the same period in 2013. Net cash flow from operating activity was up 12% to ZAR 313 million against ZAR 279 million a year ago. Acquisition of property, plant and equipment was ZAR 244,663,000 against ZAR 249,718,000 a year ago. Headline earnings per share were up 25%. The company announced that production of saleable anthracite at Somkhele increased 27% to 678,002 tons in the six months ended 31 December 2014 against 534,523 tones with a 3% improvement in yields and 23% increase in Run-Of-Mine (ROM) tones washed. Somkhele’s third processing plant produces energy product from discard. Production increased 55% to 171,474 tons against 110,349 tons a year ago, during the period under review, with yield improving by 23%.
