The company operates in three segments: Oil, Wind Energy, and Geothermal Energy. The Oil segment engages in the oil and mineral exploration, development, and production activities in various petroleum concessions located in the Philippines and Gabon. The Wind Energy segment generates, transmits, and/or distributes power from wind energy project with a capacity of 36 megawatts (MW) located in Nabas, Aklan. The Geothermal Energy segment develops, constructs, and operates steamfield, power plant, switchyard, and transmission line facilities at the Maibarara geothermal power project with a capacity of 20 MW located in Sto. Tomas, Batangas. The company was formerly known as Petrotech Consultants, Inc. and changed its name to PetroEnergy Resources Corporation in 1997. PetroEnergy Resources Corporation was founded in 1994 and is headquartered in Pasig, the Philippines.

PetroEnergy Resources Corp. reported earnings results for the year ended December 31, 2014. For the year, the company reported total revenue of $25,874,284 compared to $6,648,471 a year ago. Income before income tax was $15,720,042 compared to $3,286,982 a year ago. Net income attributable to equity holders of parent company of $8,489,385 or $0.031 per basic and diluted share compared to $2,211,220 or $0.008 per basic and diluted share a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was $17,179,685 compared to net cash used in operating activities of $10,073,036 a year ago. Acquisition of property, plant and equipment of $10,460,030 compared to $25,317,818 a year ago.

PetroEnergy Resources Corp. Signs Solar Renewable Energy Contract with the DOE

On March 25, 2015, PetroGreen Energy Corporation signed with the Department of Energy the Service Contract for a 10-50 MW Solar Power Project near Hacienda Luisita, Tarlac. The site has a flat terrain, with no shading from trees or nearby topographies, and is strategically located near existing access roads, power distribution lines, and substations. PGEC will immediately commence its two-year pre-development DOE-approved work program with technical and financial due diligence studies. PGEC intends to develop the solar facility in stages and can expedite its work program based on the uptake of the 500 MW solar Feed-in-Tariff (FiT) allocation. The Tarlac solar project is the latest addition to PGEC's portfolio of renewable energy ventures on top of the 20 MW Maibarara Geothermal Power Plant where it has 65% ownership, and the 50 MW Nabas Wind Power Project where it holds 40% equity interest. PGEC is 100% owned by publicly-listed PetroEnergy Resources Corporation.
