In addition, it provides business solutions consisting of communication solutions, security systems, personal computers, professional AV products, document and imaging solutions, terminal solutions, IT solutions, and recording media products; eco solutions, including photovoltaic and lighting products, electrical construction materials, air conditioning and purification products, home building products and materials; and healthcare products, such as in vitro diagnostics, medical imaging, hospital systems, home/personal use products, and dental clinic/dental laboratory products. Further, Panasonic Corporation offers industrial devices comprising passive and connecting components, sensors, speakers/others, printed wiring boards/modules, materials, semiconductors, storages, supplies, batteries and energy products, factory automation products, motors, compressors, and others. The company was formerly known as Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. and changed its name to Panasonic Corporation in 2008. Panasonic Corporation was founded in 1918 and is headquartered in Kadoma, Japan.

Panasonic Mulls Acquisitions; To Spend ¥1 Trillion

Panasonic Corporation (TSE:6752) is ready to spend ¥1 trillion ($8.4 billion) on acquisitions over the next four years. Chief Executive Officer of the company, Kazuhiro Tsuga said that the company does not have specific acquisition targets in mind for now. He stated that it will spend around ¥200 billion on M&A in the fiscal year that kicks off in April alone, and pledged to improve on Panasonic's patchy track record on big deals. He stated: "With strategic investments, if there's an opportunity to accelerate growth, you need funds. That's the idea behind the ¥1 trillion figure." He has earlier stated that the company is interested in M&A deals in the European white goods market.

Panasonic Launches New Line Up of 75-Watt Pumps in Indonesia

Panasonic Corporation has launched a new line up of 75-watt pumps in Indonesia. This product uses technology to ensure precision of up to 10 microns by using CNC as well as aluminum materials technology. To give more options for Indonesian people, Panasonic provides two models: manual and automatic pumps. The 75-watt pumps will be a unique addition to Panasonic's water pump line up in Indonesia and serve as one of the core businesses of the market. Being a leader of the Indonesian water pump market, Panasonic realizes the huge need for water pumps that use a low amount of electricity in order to meet the needs of people with access to only 450 watts of total electricity consumption. This product marks the first low watt pump in Indonesia for household usage and will aim to provide easier access to water for Indonesia community in order to encourage the realisation of a better life and a better world for Indonesia. The new Panasonic 75-watt pump has water suctioning capacity of around 16 liters per minutes with the total suctioning depth of up to 9 meters. The total electricity power required for both pumps are 75 watt (for motor output) and 120 watt (for input watt), which make them really suitable for households with 450 watt electricity capacity. With the size of the pump being 218 x 161 x 194mm (for GL-75JXK) and 218 x 204 x 211mm (for GL-75JAK), they are very compact in size and are durable when properly used.

Panasonic Unveils Next Gen Data Storage and Battery Backup Unit at OCP 2015

Panasonic showcased the data archiver and data center battery backup unit that utilizes 18650-size cylindrical lithium-ion battery cells at the OCP U.S. Summit 2015, held on March 10 - 11, 2015, in San Jose, California. Data centers require backup power in the event of a power failure during long-term storage period. In addition, the batteries need to be both compact and efficient to support the needs of the distributed type of data center. At OCP, Panasonic also showcased a battery backup unit that utilizes its 18650-size cylindrical lithium-ion batteries.
