Premara Financial, Inc. is the holding company of Carolina Premier Bank that provides community banking products and services in North Carolina. It offers various checking accounts, passbook savings account, Good Egg health savings account, certificates of deposit, money market accounts, children’s savings accounts, and individual retirement accounts. The company also provides personal loans, home mortgage loans, auto loans, home equity loans/lines, and lines of credit; and business loans consisting of term loans, real estate loans, construction loans, and small business administration loans. In addition, it offers cash management, merchant card processing, electronic banking, remote deposit, overdraft protection, safety deposit boxes, debit card, and wealth management services, as well as treasury management and concierge services. It serves personal and small business customers throughout the Charlotte region, and North and South Carolina. The company was formerly known as Carolina Premier Bank (NC) and changed its name to Premara Financial, Inc. in July 2011. Premara Financial, Inc. was founded in 2007 and is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Carolina Premier Bank Announces Changes to its Leadership Team

Carolina Premier Bank has named two executives to its leadership team. Timothy C. Key was named Chief Lending Officer and Carrington S. "Cash" Canada was named Chief Credit Officer. Key has 22 years of banking experience, most recently as a Commercial Team Leader for a national bank. also held sales and sales management roles with regional and national banks. His role at Carolina Premier Bank will be to direct and lead the Commercial Banking team as they provide value-added, premier-level service for their clients. Key serves as Board Chair of Business Expansion Funding Corporation (BEFCOR), volunteer and graduate of Leadership Charlotte, and advisory board member for the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce. He also served as a consultant to the finance committee of St. Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church. Key is a graduate of University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Most recently, Canada was the Senior Credit Officer for a community bank based in Augusta, GA. Prior to this role, he was the Director of Credit Policy for Savannah River Banking Company which started as a De novo bank in Augusta, GA and was acquired by First Community Corporation (Lexington, SC). Canada also served as the Aiken Market President for a national bank. He will relocate to Charlotte and begin his role in early May. Key and Cash were both hired upon the retirement of Jim Mauney, who served as the bank's Chief Lending and Risk Officer for the past three years. Mauney will continue to periodically consult with the bank as the new team transitions into their roles.

Carolina Premier Bank Announces Executive Changes

Carolina Premier Bank has named David P. Barksdale as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective February 4, 2015. Barksdale has 27 years of banking experience, most recently as Senior Executive Vice President/Chief Strategy Officer of NewBridge Bank. In addition to a variety of lending programs and checking accounts tailored for business clients, Carolina Premier also offers a range of personal banking services such as checking and savings accounts, home mortgages and individual retirement accounts. Caryn Johnson, who has been acting as Interim President will re-assume her previous role as Chief Operating Officer.
