PacWest Bancorp operates as the holding company for Pacific Western Bank that provides commercial banking products and services to individuals, professionals, and small to mid-sized businesses in the United States. It accepts demand, money market, and time deposits. Its real estate loans include mini-perm loans and construction loans; commercial loans comprise asset secured loans, cash flow secured loans, term business loans, and equipment secured loans and leases, as well as SBA loans; and consumer loans, such as personal loans, auto loans, home equity lines of credit, revolving lines of credit, and other loans. The company also provides international banking, multi-state deposit, and investment services, as well as out-of-service area services; telephone customer and on-line banking services; and foreign exchange services. As of January 31, 2015, it had 80 full-service branch offices and 62 other offices. The company was formerly known as First Community Bancorp and changed its name to PacWest Bancorp in April 2008. PacWest Bancorp was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in Los Angeles, California.

PacWest Bancorp reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported net earnings of $73,079,000 compared to $25,080,000 a year ago. Reported pre-tax earnings were $119,152,000 compared to $39,773,000 a year ago. Adjusted pre-tax earnings were $104,905,000 compared to $37,705,000 a year ago. Adjusted net earnings were $62,943,000 compared to $22,359,000 a year ago. Adjusted diluted earnings per share were $0.61 compared to $0.47 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share were $0.71 compared to $0.55 a year ago. Annualized adjusted return on average assets was 1.82% compared to 1.56% a year ago. Annualized return on average equity was 8.39% compared to 12.40% a year ago. Non-GAAP annualized adjusted return on average assets was 1.57% compared to 1.39% a year ago. Non-GAAP annualized adjusted return on average equity was 7.22% compared to 11.05% a year ago. Overall effective income tax rate was 38.7% for the first quarter of 2015. Total interest income was $214,314,000 compared to $88,360,000 a year ago. Net interest income increased $4.1 million to $199.1 million for the first quarter of 2015 compared to $195.0 million for the fourth quarter of 2014.

PacWest Bancorp Announces Executive Changes, Effective Mid-August 2015

PacWest Bancorp announced that Victor R. Santoro intends to retire from his position as chief financial officer of the company effective in mid-August 2015 subsequent to the company's filing of its Form 10-Q for the second quarter of 2015. Following his retirement as CFO, Mr. Santoro will continue to work with the company as vice chairman Corporate Development and assist with the transition of his CFO responsibilities. Mr. Santoro will be succeeded by Patrick J. Rusnak, who is expected to assume the roles of executive vice president and chief financial officer upon Mr. Santoro's retirement as CFO of the company in mid-August 2015.

PacWest Bancorp Declares Quarterly Dividend, Payable on March 5, 2015

PacWest Bancorp announced that its board of directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.50 per common share. The cash dividend is payable on March 5, 2015 to stockholders of record at the close of business on February 23, 2015.
