Oracle Unveils Oracle Data Integrator for Big Data

Oracle Corporation has unveiled Oracle Data Integrator for Big Data. This news follows closely on the heels of Oracle's recent Enterprise Big Data announcement and furthers Oracle's vision to enable Hadoop, NoSQL, and relational database technologies to work together and be deployed securely in any modelwhether public cloud, private cloud, or on-premises infrastructure. Oracle Data Integrator for Big Data enables customers to quickly go from data to decisions, streamline their Hadoop development, and enhance data transparency and data governance across the organization. It provides customers with access to an increased number of diverse data types from on-premises and cloud sources, and helps deliver increased performance for growing data volumes, and enrich data quality for business decisions and regulatory compliance. Unlike other products in the marketplace, Oracle Data Integrator for Big Data is designed to fully leverage a customer's existing investment in their Hadoop cluster, running completely natively without requiring proprietary code to be installed or a separate server to be run. Generating value from big data requires the right tools to move and prepare data to effectively discover new insights. In order to operationalize those insights, new data must integrate securely with existing data, infrastructure, applications, and processes. Oracle Data Integration is a key component of Oracle's Big Data solutions, a group of Oracle technologies that work seamlessly together to help companies exploit enterprise big data faster, at lower cost, and with less risk. They allow customers to securely reach across Hadoop, NoSQL, and relational databases to easily and cost-effectively sift through massive and diverse data sets.

Oracle to Provide Aircraft Engine Maintenance Solutions to Japan's IHI Corporation

Oracle has reached an engine maintenance services deal with IHI Corporation. Financial terms were not released. IHI expects the partnership to improve its operations, including a reduction in turnaround times for jet engine maintenance.

Oracle Announces Oracle Retail Cloud Services

Oracle announced six new Oracle Retail cloud services that provide retailers with rapid access to enterprise-grade applications for managing critical e-commerce, customer engagement, order management, order fulfillment, loss prevention, and brand compliance operations. The new cloud services stem from the MICROS Retail solutions acquired by Oracle in 2014, and they are part of a growing portfolio of retail solutions hosted by Oracle and available by subscription. As technology and consumer expectations reshape the traditional shopping experience, IT departments must rapidly introduce new business capabilities while maintaining existing systems. Oracle Retail Cloud Services help retailers to ensure uptime and efficiency of key operations, while providing consistent, immediately available upgrades--enabling internal IT groups to focus on differentiating the customer experience and driving growth. The new Oracle Retail Cloud Services help eliminate the time and cost constraints that too often hamper retailers' ability to respond to new opportunities for growth. Just as important, Oracle Retail Cloud Services allow retailers to focus on their business and work on strategic projects that add value to the business. Oracle Retail Cloud Services leverage Oracle's expertise in the cloud, security, retail-specific functionality, and networking. They augment the Oracle Cloud, the industry's broadest portfolio of public cloud services across software as a service, platform as a service, data as a service, and infrastructure as a service.
