OmniVision Technologies, Inc. designs, develops, manufactures, and markets semiconductor image-sensor devices worldwide. The company’s principal products comprise CameraChip image sensors, which capture an image electronically and are used in various consumer and commercial mass-market applications; and CameraCubeChip imaging devices that are image sensors with integrated wafer-level optics. It also supplies companion chips used to connect its image sensors to various interfaces, such as the universal serial bus and other industry standard interfaces; and companion digital signal processors, which perform compression in standardized still photo and digital video formats. In addition, the company designs and develops software drivers for Linux, Mac OSX, and Microsoft Windows, as well as for embedded operating systems comprising Android, Blackberry OS, Symbian, Windows CE, Windows Embedded, and Windows Mobile. Further, it offers OV5670, a PureCel image sensor designed for front and rear-facing camera applications in smartphones and tablets; OV10640, an automotive image sensor; OV490, a companion chip that enables high-quality image and video processing; OV2740, a PureCel image sensor designed for front-facing cameras in smartphones, tablets, and notebooks; OV7676, a VGA image sensor; OV13860, OV16850, OV23850, OV21840, and OV16880, which are PureCel-S image sensors; OV10642 and WVGA OV10625 that are sensors designed primarily for automotive applications; and OV9750, an image sensor designed for the security market. The company sells its products directly to original equipment manufacturers and value added resellers, as well as indirectly through distributors. It serves mobile phone, entertainment, notebook and Webcam, digital still camera, security and surveillance, and automotive and medical markets. The company was founded in 1995 and is headquartered in Santa Clara, California.

OmniVision Technologies, Inc. announced the OV13853, a high performance 13-megapixel PureCel™ image sensor that brings DSLR quality images and features to mainstream mobile devices. Leveraging OmniVision's proven 1.12-micron pixel technology, the OV13853 can achieve best-in-class high and low-light performance, while delivering support for advanced features such as phase detection autofocus (PDAF). The 1/3.06-inch OV13853 supports an active array of 4224 x 3136 pixels (13.2-megapixels) operating at 30 frames per second (FPS) with zero shutter lag, enabling seamless transition between recording video and still images. The sensor supports 4K2K ultra-high definition video at 30 FPS with full-horizontal field of view (FOV) and electronic image stabilization (EIS). The OV13853 can also record high frame rate 1080p HD video at 60 FPS with EIS to enable high quality video recording. The OV13853 fits into a compact 8.5 mm x 8.5 mm module with a z-height of less than 5 mm. The sensor is currently in volume production.

OmniVision Technologies, Inc. announced the cost-optimized and power-efficient OVM7699 CameraCubeChip™ and OV7699 CameraChip™. Utilizing OmniVision's OmniBSI+™ pixel architecture, the OVM7699 and OV7699 offer best-in-class VGA performance in the industry's smallest footprint, making them ideal camera solutions for a wide range of applications, including feature phones, mainstream smartphones, notebooks, wearables and IoT devices, among others. The OVM7699 is packaged in OmniVision's proprietary CameraCubeChip™ format, which is an easy-to-integrate and cost-effective complete camera solution for slim form-factor designs. The OV7699 is available in a traditional compact chip-scale package (CSP). The 1/13-inch OVM7699 and OV7699 utilize the latest 1.75-micron OmniBSI+ pixel architecture to deliver signal-to-noise ratio, sensitivity, full-well capacity, and distortion correction. Both devices capture high quality VGA (640 x 480 pixel) resolution images and video at 30 frames per second (FPS). The OVM7699 comes in a 2.1 mm x 2.1 mm CameraCubeChip™ module with a z-height of approximately 2.3 mm, while the OV7699 comes in a 2.03 mm x 2.08 mm CSP. Both the OVM7699 and the OV7699 are currently available for sampling, and are expected to enter volume production in the first quarter of 2016.
