Baidu and Nvidia Partner on Cloud, Graphics Center

Baidu reported it has partnered with computer graphics house Nvidia (NVDA) to establish an R&D center, to enhance BIDU's deep learning and media-cloud computing capabilities. The joint center will use NVDA's graphic processing units and deep-learning architecture. BIDU and NVDA will both improve BIDU's video platform for a better viewing experience for Chinese users. BIDU will join with NVDA to deploy machine learning, cloud rendering, cloud gaming, and virtual desktop infrastructure to better meet the demands of video production, management, marketing, and viewers.

iQIYI Enters into Strategic Partnership with NVIDIA to Establish iQIYI-NVIDIA Research and Development Center

iQIYI announced its strategic partnership with NVIDIA. The two companies will establish the iQIYI-NVIDIA Research and Development Center to enhance iQIYI's deep learning and media cloud computing capabilities using NVIDIA's Graphic Processing Units (GPUs) and deep learning architecture. Both sides will improve iQIYI's video platform for a more viewing experience for Chinese users. iQIYI and NVIDIA will deploy a great deal of technology, including machine learning, cloud rendering, cloud gaming, and virtual desktop infrastructure, among others, to better meet the diversified demands of video production, management, marketing, and meeting viewer expectations. The applications for deep learning are becoming increasingly diversified, and visual special effects and realistic 3D games are increasing in popularity. As a leader in China's online video industry, iQIYI has also worked with Intel and Dolby Laboratories on cooperative initiatives. iQIYI and NVIDIA 's continuing partnership will decrease video production costs, improve visual special effects, meet more diverse user needs, and expand cash incomes for the video-sharing industry. Deep structured learning or hierarchical learning is a set of algorithms in machine learning that attempt to model high-level abstractions in data by using model architectures composed of multiple non-linear transformations.

NVIDIA introduces NVIDIA DRIVE automotive computers NVIDIA DRIVE PX and NVIDIA DRIVE CX

NVIDIA introduced NVIDIA DRIVE automotive computers - equipped with powerful capabilities for computer vision, deep learning and advanced cockpit visualization. NVIDIA will offer two car computers: NVIDIA DRIVE PX, for developing auto-pilot capabilities, and NVIDIA DRIVE CX, for creating the most advanced digital cockpit systems. These automotive-grade in-vehicle computers are based on the same architecture used. The NVIDIA DRIVE CX cockpit computer is a complete solution with hardware and software to enable advanced graphics and computer vision for navigation, infotainment, digital instrument clusters and driver monitoring. It also enables Surround-Vision, which provides an undistorted top-down, 360-degree view of the car in real time -- solving the problem of blind spots -- and can completely replace a physical mirror with a digital smart mirror. Available with either Tegra X1 or Tegra K1 processors, and complete road-tested software, the DRIVE CX can power up to 16.8 million pixels on multiple displays - more than 10 times that of current model cars. Both NVIDIADRIVE PX and DRIVE CX platforms include a range of software application modules from NVIDIA or third-party solutions providers. The DRIVE PX auto-pilot development platform and DRIVE CX cockpit computer will be available in the second quarter of 2015.
