Nouveau Monde Mining Enterprises Inc. Provides Corporate Update of Exploration Activities

Nouveau Monde Mining Enterprises Inc. provided an update of its exploration activities in Quebec, as well as to discuss its objectives for the upcoming exploration season. The Matawinie graphite property, located approximately 140 km north of Montreal, is composed of 646 claims totaling 37191 ha. The claims are distributed in 10 distinct claim blocks over an area some 70 km by 60 km. Exploration work performed by Nouveau-Monde since 2012 returned impressive results, both in terms of grade and mineralized lengths. A total of 11 boreholes performed In 2013 on the Ti-NOU block returned above 5 % graphitic carbon ("or Cg") over a minimum length of 5 m. Borehole TN-01 displayed the best results, with 12.2 % Cg over 17.32 m. During a short trenching program executed in 2014 on the Hotel block, channel samples from trench TR-2 proved to average 5.7 % Cg over 22 m. A metallurgical scoping study made by SGS Lakefield on material from this trench revealed that 60.3 % of the resulting concentrate was composed of large flake graphite (greater than 80 mesh) with a purity of 98.5 % total carbon. Nouveau-Monde is planning a short drill program on the property aimed at evaluating the geometry of the high-grade graphite showings which coincide with kilometric size conductors generated from previous airborne surveys. Nouveau-Monde is also in discussions with various industry leaders and hopes to enter in a partnership in a timely manner to accelerate work on the Matawinie property.

Nouveau Monde Announces First Metallurgical Results from Hotel Block-Matawinie Graphite Property

Nouveau Monde Mining Enterprises Inc. announced results from the first scoping-level metallurgical test for the Hotel block, Matawinie graphite property. One 10 kg sample collected alongside samples from trench TR02 was submitted to SGS laboratories in Lakefield, Ontario, with the goal of generating a graphite concentrate by means of flotation, and thereby assessing the metallurgical response of the ore to the typical crushing, grinding and flotation processes employed in the industry. A parallel objective was the characterization of the concentrate in regards to carbon grade and recovery, as well as graphite flake size distribution. No thermal or chemical purification was carried out on the flotation concentrate. The calculated carbon head grade for the sample was 7.0% Ct. The scoping-level flotation test upgraded the material into a graphite concentrate grading 96.3% Ct. Size fraction analysis of the final flotation concentrate revealed that 60.3% was composed of large flake graphite (greater than 80 mesh), at an average carbon grade of 98.5% Ct. A total of 30.1% of the final concentrate falls in the Jumbo flake category (greater than 48 mesh), with an average grade of 99.1% Ct. The table below summarizes flake size distribution and carbon grade of the greater than 150 mesh size fraction, which contains 76.8% of the graphite mass at an average grade of 97.9% Ct. The chemical analysis used to determine the total carbon content employs combustion of a sample followed by infrared detection on a LECO SC-632 instrument. All reported analytical results have an associated measurement uncertainty based on the expected precision and accuracy relating to the method and sample concentration. Values at 100% should not be treated as pure products without additional impurity testing. The estimated measurement uncertainty for total carbon values greater than 90% Ct is 1.7% (relative) with a resolution of 1 significant figure. These results were obtained in a single flotation test using typical flotation conditions for a first scoping-level test. Further testing will focus on improving the metallurgical results in terms of concentrate grade and flake size distribution.

Nouveau Monde Mining Enterprises Inc. Reports Assay Results of its 2014 Prospecting and Channel Sampling Exploration Program on the Matawinie Graphite Property

Nouveau Monde Mining Enterprises Inc. reported the assay results of its 2014 prospecting and channel sampling exploration program on the Matawinie graphite Property located in the St-Michel-des-Saints area, some 140 km North of Montreal, Québec. The field work, conducted intermittently from May to July targeted unexplored electromagnetic anomalies generated by a regional airborne geophysical survey carried-out earlier this year by Nouveau-Monde. During the 2014 summer program, a total of 40 grab samples from graphite-bearing paragneiss outcrop and subcrop was collected during the 2014 summer program over three of the claim blocks included in the Matawinie Property. Of those grab samples, thirteen (13) returned significant results ranging from 5.12 % graphitic carbon to 13.7 % Cg (significant results are defined as greater than 5 % Cg). These results further expand the graphite mineralization observed during the last two years on the ten claim blocks composing the Matawinie property. Highlights of the Matawinie Graphite Property: 10 blocks of claims covering an area roughly 80 km by 60 km and containing over 30 linear km of electromagnetic anomalies representing prospective graphite targets. 49 grab samples collected by Nouveau-Monde in the area since 2013 returned over 5 % Cg. Drilling at the Ti-Nou mineralized zone gave 12.2 % Cg over 17.32 m (drill hole TN-01). Drilling at the Gros-Nou mineralized zone returned 10.5 % Cg over 5.79 m (drill hole GN-03) and 3.4% Cg over 42 m (drill hole GN-01). Trenching on the Hotel block electromagnetic anomaly returned 5.7 % Cg over 22 m. Metallurgical tests conducted at SGS Lakefield from the Ti-Nou mineralized zone measured 18.2% Ct (carbon total) in the raw material and produced a graphite concentrate which was 95.9% pure and contained an average of 17.9% jumbo flakes larger than 48 mesh and 44.9% larger than 100 mesh.
