Nokia Corporation, together with its subsidiaries, provides network infrastructure and related services in Finland, the United States, Japan, China, India, the Russian Federation, Germany, Taiwan, Indonesia, Italy, and internationally. The company operates through four segments: Mobile Broadband, Global Services, HERE, and Nokia Technologies. The Mobile Broadband offers network solutions for mobile voice and data services through its Radio and Core clusters for mobile operators. The Global Services segment offers various services for mobile operators, such as network implementation services to build, expand, or modernize communications network; undertaking software and hardware maintenance, as well as provides training; managed services, including network operations and service operations; network planning and optimization services; and systems integration services. The HERE segment focuses on the development of location intelligence, location-based services, and local commerce; and provides up-to-date maps, voice guided navigation, and live traffic information services to automotive, mobile, Internet, and consumer electronics industries. The Nokia Technologies segment develops and licenses technologies. The company was founded in 1865 and is headquartered in Espoo, Finland.

HERE Reports Unaudited Earnings Results for the First Quarter Ended March 31, 2015

HERE reported unaudited earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported net sales of EUR 261 million compared to EUR 209 million a year ago. Operating profit was EUR 11 million compared to operating loss of EUR 3 million a year ago. In the first quarter 2015, HERE net sales increased 25% year-on-year, primarily due to higher sales to automotive customers, as well as Microsoft becoming a more significant licensee of HERE's services and, to a lesser extent, higher sales to enterprise and PND customers. EBITDA was EUR 25 million compared to EUR 12 million a year ago.

Nokia Corporation reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported net sales of EUR 3,196 million compared to EUR 2,664 million a year ago. Operating profit was EUR 237 million compared to EUR 242 million a year ago. Profit before tax was EUR 236 million compared to EUR 168 million a year ago. Basic and diluted earnings per share were EUR 0.05 compared to loss per share of EUR 0.06 a year ago. Net cash used in operating activities was EUR 199 million compared to EUR 138 million a year ago. Capital expenditures were EUR 70 million compared to EUR 80 million a year ago. EBITDA was EUR 338 million compared to EUR 322 million a year ago. The company expected a better second half in 2015, and growth in all other sectors too. Earlier this month, Nokia announced a major deal to acquire French networks company, Alcatel-Lucent, which could make it the leading global networks provider.
