Norsk Hydro ASA, an aluminum company, engages in power production, bauxite extraction, alumina refining, aluminum smelting, remelting and recycling, and rolling activities worldwide. It operates in Bauxite & Alumina, Primary Metal, Metal Markets, Rolled Products, and Energy segments. The Bauxite & Alumina segment is involved in bauxite mining activities, production of alumina, and related commercial activities, primarily the sale of alumina. The Primary Metal segment engages in the aluminum production, remelting, and casting activities. It primarily offers extrusion ingots, foundry alloys, and sheet ingot products. The Metal Markets segment sells products from the company’s primary metal plants; and operates remelters, as well as trades in physical and financial metals. The Rolled Products segment operates rolling mills that primarily provide aluminium foil, strip, sheet, and lithographic plate for applications in various sectors, including packaging, automotive, and transport industries, as well as for offset printing plates. The Energy segment operates 24 hydroelectric power plants with a total installed capacity of approximately 2,000 MW in Norway. The company also serves electronics, building and construction, consumer goods, general engineering, HVACR, and solar products industries. Norsk Hydro ASA was founded in 1905 and is headquartered in Oslo, Norway.

Norsk Hydro ASA Proposes Dividend for 2014, Payable in May 2015; Announces Consolidated Earnings and Operating Results for the Full Year Ended December 31, 2014

The Board of Directors of Norsk Hydro ASA proposed to pay a dividend of NOK 1 per share for 2014 to be paid in May 2015 reflecting the company's commitment to provide a cash return to its shareholders. The dividend reflects operational performance for 2014, strong financial position and improved earnings outlook for 2015. Hydro's policy is to pay out, on average, 40% of net income as ordinary dividend over the cycle to shareholders. This policy was revised by company Board of Directors in 2015, from 30% to 40% of net income over the cycle. Shares traded ex-dividend on May 7, 2015 and record date for dividend is May 8, 2015. Norsk Hydro ASA announced earnings and operating results for the full year ended December 31, 2014. For the year, the company reported earnings before financial items and tax of NOK 5,674 million compared with NOK 1,663 million a year ago. Income from continuing operations before tax NOK 2,121 million compared with loss from continuing operations before tax of NOK 913 million a year ago. As on date, the company's adjusted net interest-bearing debt was NOK 13,587 million against NOK 10,128 million, last year. Net interest bearing debt increased by NOK 0.8 billion compared to the previous year, amounting to net debt of NOK 0.1 billion at the end of 2014. Underlying EBIT for Energy decreased in 2014 due to lower prices and higher area price differences, as well as increased transmission costs. Net cash provided by continuing operating activities was NOK 5,965 million compared with NOK 5,202 million, a year ago. Purchases of property, plant and equipment was NOK 3,294 million compared with NOK 2,867 million a year ago. For the year, the company alumina production was 5,933 kmt compared with 5,377 kmt a year ago. Primary aluminium production was 1,958 kmt compared with 1,944 kmt a year ago. Power production was 10,206 GWh compared with 10,243 GWh a year ago. Bauxite production was 9,481 kmt compared with 7,567 kmt a year ago.

Norsk Hydro ASA announced earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2014. For the quarter, net loss attributable to shareholders of the company was NOK 370 million, or NOK 0.18 loss per share, compared to a net loss attributable to shareholders of the company of NOK 793 million, or NOK 0.39 loss per share, for the same quarter a year ago. Total revenue and income was NOK 21.95 billion compared to NOK 16.52 billion for the same quarter a year ago. For the year, net income attributable to shareholders of the company was NOK 797 million or NOK 0.39 per share compared to a net loss attributable to shareholders of the company of NOK 920 million or NOK 0.45 loss per share, for the year same period a year ago. Total revenue and income for the year was NOK 79.07 billion compared to NOK 65.44 billion for the same period a year ago.
