Nordex SE, together with its subsidiaries, develops, produces, services, and markets onshore wind power systems primarily in Europe, Asia, and the United States. The company offers various wind turbines comprising N131 with 3 megawatt (MW) capacity for average wind speeds; N117 with 3 MW capacity for medium wind speeds; N100 with 3.3 MW capacity for strong-wind locations; N117 with 2.4 MW capacity for low-wind sites; N100 with 2.5 MW capacity for use in medium and low wind conditions; and N90 with 2.5 MW capacity used at strong-wind sites. It also provides project development in selected countries, as well as acquires rights and creates the infrastructure required to construct wind power systems at suitable locations. In addition, the company offers planning, delivery, installation, and commissioning of various electrical and technical automation systems, as well as the infrastructural measures required for wind turbines. Further, it provides installation services for wind parks with the substation, including grid connection (turnkey solutions), as well as inspection and maintenance, repair, spare parts, remote monitoring, and modernization services. Nordex SE was founded in 1985 and is headquartered in Hamburg, Germany.

Nordex Group Announces Consolidated Earnings Results for 2014

Nordex Group announced consolidated earnings results for 2014. For the years, the company increased its sales by some 21% to EUR 1,734.5 million against EUR 1,429.3 million a year ago. EBIT raised by 76% to EUR 78.0 million against EUR 44.3 million a year ago. Consolidated net profit increased almost four-fold to EUR 39.0 million against EUR 10.3 million a year ago. Consolidated net profit rose at a disproportionately strong rate due to the more favourable funding terms. Net cash inflow from operating activities was increased by 63% to EUR 160.3 million and the free cash flow increasing to EUR 88.7 million against EUR 23.8 million a year ago.

Nordex to Install 27-MW Wind Farm for STEAG in France

The Nordex Group has been awarded the first contract by STEAG New Energies GmbH for the installation of a wind farm in France. It will be supplying nine Generation Delta N117/3000 turbines for the Onze Muids project, which STEAG previously acquired from Lower Saxony-based wind farm developer Volkswind. The contract also includes the provision of premium service by Nordex France for 15 years. The wind farm is scheduled to go online in early 2016. The current wind farm is being built in Picardy in the department of Aisne near Hauteville. With an average wind speed of 6.9 m/s at a hub height of 91 metres, the expected annual energy yield comes to around 81 GWh, equivalent to an above-average capacity factor of more than 34%.

Nordex Wins Two New Contracts from Turkey

Nordex SE has won two new contracts from Turkey. The company will reportedly be installing 22 units of the N117/2400 Generation Gamma for its customer Sancak Enerji at the Yahyali wind farm. In addition, it is supplying its regular customer Dost Enerji with one N90/2500 turbine to enlarge the "Geres" wind farm. The "Yahyali" project is being executed in Central Anatolia. With an average wind speed of 6.6 m/s, the expected annual energy yield comes to around 130 million kWh. Specially designed for such conditions, the N117/2400 will achieve an above-average capacity factor of some 36% at this site. A five-year premium service contract has been signed for the "Yahyali" wind farm and will take effect upon completion of the project. The "Geres" wind farm is located close to the town of Manisa in Western Anatolia. The N90/2500 turbine will be enlarging the existing wind farm comprising eleven N90/2500 turbines installed for Dost Enerji in June 2014.
