It also provides retail and hospitality oriented technologies, such as point of sale terminals and point of sale software, bar-code scanners, and other retail-oriented software and services; self-service kiosks and related operating software; and hardware, software, professional, and support services that enable check and item-based transactions to be captured, processed, and retained. In addition, the company develops, produces, and markets two-sided thermal papers, paper rolls for receipts in ATMs and point of sale solutions, inkjet and laser printer supplies, thermal transfer and ink ribbons, labels, laser documents, business forms, and photo and presentation papers. Further, it provides maintenance and support services; site assessment and preparation, staging, installation and implementation, systems management, and complete managed services; predictive services; software-as-a-service and hosted services; and online, mobile, and transactional services and applications, as well as resell third-party networking products and related service offerings in the telecommunications and technology sectors. Nedbank Group has selected 250 units of NCR Cash Recycler 11 to significantly increases customer satisfaction by reducing wait times by up to 50% and allowing tellers to provide a more personal and efficient service. NCR Cash Recycler 11 is designed to improve the productivity of bank tellers' roles by automating the acceptance, authentication and validation of bank notes and making the notes instantly available for dispensing to customers. This speeds up transactions and allows tellers more time to interact with customers and cross-sell additional products and services. The NCR teller cash recyclers allow Nedbank to transform its branches into a customer-centric and user-friendly environment with a modern and open-plan design by removing the security glasses at the teller booths. NCR teller cash recyclers can reduce cash deposit transaction times by up to 50% and cash dispensing transaction times by up to 40%.

NCR Corporation Reports Unaudited Consolidated Earnings Results for the Second Quarter and Six Months Ended June 30, 2015; Provides Earnings Guidance for the Third Quarter and Year 2015

NCR Corporation reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported total revenue of $1,604 million compared to $1,658 million a year ago. Loss from operations of $266 million compared to income from operations of $169 million a year ago. Loss before income taxes and discontinued operations of $311 million compared to income before income taxes and discontinued operations of $120 million a year ago. Loss from continuing operations of $343 million compared to income from continuing operations of $91 million a year ago. Net loss attributable to the company of $344 million or $2.03 per basic and diluted share compared to net income attributable to the company of $90 million or $0.53 per diluted share a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was $167 million compared to $80 million a year ago. Expenditures for property, plant and equipment were $18 million compared to $34 million a year ago. Additions to capitalized software of $41 million compared to $39 million a year ago. For the six months, the company reported total revenue of $3,080 million compared to $3,176 million a year ago. Loss from operations of $171 million compared to income from operations of $277 million year ago. Loss before income taxes and discontinued operations of $267 million compared to income before income taxes and discontinued operations of $178 million a year ago. Loss from continuing operations of $301 million compared to income from continuing operations of $145 million a year ago.
