The company was formerly known as Nigerian Brewery Limited and changed its name to Nigerian Breweries Plc in 1990. The company was founded in 1946 and is headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria. Nigerian Breweries Plc is a subsidiary of Heineken N.V.

Nigerian Breweries Plc reported earnings results for the year 2014. For the year, the company recorded a revenue of NGN 266.3 billion, a 0.8% decline from NGN 268.6 billion revenue in 2013. The results from the company's operating activities showed a profit before tax of NGN 61.4 billion and a profit after tax of NGN 42.5 billion for the year under review.

Nigerian Breweries Plc Proposes Dividend for Financial Year 2014

Nigerian Breweries PLC proposed NGN 37.21 billion as dividend for shareholders of the nation's brewery gaint for the 2014 financial year, for shareholders' approval at the scheduled 2015 Annual General Meeting. The company also said that the final dividend amounts to NGN 27.75 billion or NGN 3.50 per 50k ordinary share held. It said the dividend, when approved by the shareholders, shall be paid subject to a deduction of withholding tax, on May 14, 2015 to all shareholders whose names appear on the Company's Register of Members at the close of business on March 4, 2014.
