Mycronic AB (publ), together with its subsidiaries, develops, manufactures, and sells production equipment to the electronics industry. The company offers surface mount technology solutions, such as production equipment for the application of solder paste; assembly equipment for mounting electronics components on circuit boards; automated storage solutions; and software. It also provides pattern generators or mask writers for manufacturing photomasks and direct writers, as well as offers complete systems, service, and peripheral products. The company provides its products to contract manufacturers, and manufacturers of their end products; and manufacturers of photomasks for various types of display applications for smart phones, tablets, laptops, and TVs. It markets and sells its products through distributors and agents in Sweden, rest of Europe, the Americas, Asia, and internationally. The company was formerly known as Micronic Mydata AB (publ) and changed its name to Mycronic AB (publ) in June 2014. Mycronic AB (publ) is headquartered in Täby, Sweden.

Mycronic AB (publ) reported unaudited consolidated and parent earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2015. For the quarter, on consolidated basis, net sales were SEK 284.6 million against SEK 238.2 million last year. EBIT was SEK 1.1 million against SEK 5.6 million last year. Profit before tax was SEK 1.2 million against SEK 6.2 million last year. Net profit was SEK 0.6 million against SEK 2.7 million last year. Earnings per share were SEK 0.01 against SEK 0.03 last year. Cash flow used in operations was SEK 8.6 million against cash flow from operations of SEK 58.6 million last year. R&D expenditure was SEK 59.1 million against SEK 46.8 million last year. The increase in sales stems from both business areas. Sales during the second quarter were impacted positively by currency effects in the amount of SEK 37 million, most of it due to the stronger US dollar. Recalculated to the prevailing exchange rates of the corresponding period last year, sales reached SEK 247 million. Aftermarket sales remained stable. EBIT was charged with higher costs but was at the same time positively impacted by currency exchange effects. For the six months, on consolidated basis, net sales were SEK 588.8 million against SEK 480.5 million last year. EBIT was SEK 26.9 million against SEK 8.6 million last year. R&D expenditure was SEK 118.6 million against SEK 91.8 million last year. Return on equity was 1.9% against 0.3% last year. Other capital spending was SEK 13.9 million against SEK 2.6 million last year. The increase in sales stems from both business areas. Sales were impacted positively by currency effects in the amount of SEK 86 million, most of it due to the stronger US dollar. Recalculated to the prevailing exchange rates of the corresponding period last year, sales reached SEK 503 million. Aftermarket sales remain stable. EBIT was charged with higher costs but was at the same time positively impacted by currency exchange effects. Cash flow from operations was due to positive results and by the reduction in working capital. The decrease in working capital is mainly attributable to a decrease in trade receivables and an increase in advance payments received from customers. For the quarter, on parent basis, net sales were SEK 90.6 million against SEK 75.9 million last year. EBIT was SEK 13.4 million against SEK 0.8 million last year. Profit before tax was SEK 13.5 million against SEK 1.5 million last year. Net profit was SEK 13.5 million against SEK 1.5 million last year. For the six months, on parent basis, net sales were SEK 189.5 million against SEK 147.9 million last year. EBIT was SEK 29.2 million against LBIT of SEK 5.0 million last year. Profit before tax was SEK 29.3 million against loss before tax of SEK 3.8 million last year. Net profit was SEK 29.4 million against net loss of SEK 3.8 million last year. The company’s assessment remains that sales in 2015 will be in the span SEK 1,650 million - SEK 1,750 million.

Mycronic AB Receives Order for FPS Mask Writer from Customer in Asia

Mycronic AB (publ), has received order for an FPS mask writer within the multi purpose segment from a customer in Asia. The system is scheduled for delivery in mid-2016. Mycronic offers mask writers for manufacturing of photo-masks within different fields of application. These areas are display manufacturing (for TV, smart phones and tablets among other things) and applications within the multi purpose market. The multi purpose market is a broad segment comprising many different application areas, including touch screen photo-masks and electronic packaging. The price level for an FPS is between USD 1.5 million – USD 4 million, depending on configuration and customization.
