ma-com technology solutions (MTSI) Key Developments

M/A-COM Technology Solutions Holdings, Inc. Introduces S-Band 7 Watt Pulsed High Power Amplifier

M/A-COM Technology Solutions Holdings, Inc. announced the release of a high power pulsed amplifier designed for Civil Air Traffic Control and Weather Radar applications. The device can be used individually, or in a complete MACOM chipset solution. The MAAP-011022 is a balanced high power amplifier covering 2.7-3.0 GHz in a 6mm PQFN 28-lead SMT package. The device boasts 7 W of pulsed power, 23 dB small signal gain and is designed to provide the customer with very rugged performance under load mismatch. The MMIC's balanced architecture enables a very robust solution with excellent return loss across the frequency band and high performance under demanding VSWR load conditions. With +10 V bias operation and fifty OHMS impedance, this IC utilizes one of MACOM's highly advanced 0.5µm pHEMT processes to enable increased integration at the MMIC level. The MAAP-011022 is encapsulated in a halogen-free, environmentally friendly mold compound. It is RoHS compliant and 260° reflow compatible, operating at an 8% duty cycle. The device provides a fully matched, SMT solution with highly rugged balanced configuration that the company believes will perform well under demanding conditions. Production quantities and samples of MAAP-011022 are available from stock.

M/A-Com Technology Solutions Holdings, Inc. Introduces Broadest Portfolio of DOCSIS 3.1 Compliant Passive Components

M/A-Com Technology Solutions Holdings, Inc. announced a comprehensive new portfolio of passive components for DOCSIS 3.1 compliant cable TV (CATV) and broadband Internet systems. This new product family, spanning upstream and downstream transformers/baluns, couplers and power dividers/combiners, is the industryâ s broadest portfolio of passives specifically designed to comply with the DOCSIS 3.1 standard for high-bandwidth data transfer over existing hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) infrastructure. These products have been specifically developed for the next generation of infrastructure head-end and access equipment to be deployed in the cable network plant. This new plant requires very high-performance actives and passives in order to deliver multi-gigabit service to subscribers. MACOM also offers passives optimized for DOCSIS 3.0 and 3.1 subscriber equipment such as set-top-boxes, home gateways and cable modems. The transition to DOCSIS 3.1 is a major development for CATV and broadband Internet providers, enabling them to meet the exponentially growing bandwidth demands and achieve fiber-caliber transmission speeds, while extending the value and longevity of their legacy HFC infrastructure,â said Graham Board, Director Carrier Networks, MACOM.

M/A-Com Technology Solutions Holdings, Inc. Introduces High Power SP3T and SP4T 200 Watt PIN Diode Switches

M/A-COM Technology Solutions Holdings Inc. announced two high power PIN diode switches. The MASW-011040 [1] and MASW-011041 [2] are designed for Military and Civilian customers who require higher CW and pulsed power operation for land mobile radio applications. MACOM enables the connections that ensure high data-density network performance form L-Band to Ka-Band. Analog RF, microwave and millimeter wave innovations optimize wireless bandwidth for clear, uninterrupted signals across even remote locations. The company have the industry broadest, most technologically advanced portfolio spanning 50 MHz to 100 GHz for\ best-in-class voice, data and HD video streaming. These devices are capable of handling 200 Watts CW incident power at a base plate temperature of 85a C, delivered in a single 9mm HQFN 20-lead plastic package. Covering 50 MHz to 1 GHz, both devices deliver >40 dB isolation at 1 GHz with insertion loss of.
