This segment provides its services for businesses, public entities, insurance companies, associations, professional services organizations, and private clients. The Consulting segment offers health, retirement, talent, and investments consulting services and products; and specialized management, and economic and brand consulting services. This segment assists public and private sector employers in the design, management, and administration of employee health care programs; provides a range of strategic and compliance-related retirement services and solutions to corporate, governmental, and institutional clients; advises organizations on the engagement, management, and rewarding of employees; and offers investment consulting and other services to the sponsors of pension funds, foundations, endowments, other investors, and wealth management companies. Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. was founded in 1871 and is headquartered in New York, New York.

Marsh & McLennan Companies reported that Maria Silvia Bastos Marques has been elected to the Company's Board of Directors, effective immediately. Marques will also stand for election at the Company's upcoming annual meeting of shareholders on May 21, 2015. Marques is currently Special Advisor to the Mayor for the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games. Prior to assuming this role in April 2014, Marques served as Chief Executive Officer of Rio's Olympic Company, starting in 2011. Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. announced that Ferdinand G. Jahnel has been appointed vice president, treasurer, reporting to senior vice president of corporate finance, Mark McGivney, effective April 1, 2015. In this role, Mr. Jahnel will be responsible for Global Cash Management, Credit and Capital Markets activities, and Global Pensions. Mr. Jahnel will also be responsible for managing the company’s global commercial banking relationships. He will be based at Marsh & McLennan’s corporate headquarters in New York City. Mr. Jahnel joins Marsh & McLennan from Henry Schein, Inc., where he was Vice President, Treasurer, with responsibility for all global treasury and risk management activities of the firm.
