Samsung Mobile has selected Marvell's ARMADA Mobile PXA1908 platform and Avastar 88W8777 wireless connectivity solution to power select models of Samsung Galaxy J1 LTE smartphone. Marvell's cost-optimized 64-bit mobile processor features quad-core ARM Cortex A53, efficient power management, integrated location and sensor fusion technology, field proven 5-mode 4G LTE modem technology, and advanced ISP technology and supports the latest Android L operating system. The ARMADA Mobile PXA1908 supports today's most popular cellular communications including: TD-LTE, FDD-LTE, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, HSPDA+ and GSM/EDGE. The Samsung Galaxy J1 LTE began its launch in January 2015. The ARMADA Mobile PXA1908 is a quad-core 64-bit 5-mode LTE system-on-chip (SoC) that enables easy integration from 2G and 3G connectivity to 4G LTE. It offers a cost-optimized quad-core Cortex A53 with up to 1.5GHz clock speed, improved image processing to support 8MP camera sensors, advanced power management and integrated location and sensor hub functionalities for better usability. Marvell Partners with Google's Atap Group to Support Project Ara

Marvell announced a partnership with Google's Advanced Technology and Products, or ATAP, Group to support Project Ara modular smartphone platform with Marvell's quad-core 64-bit 5-mode 4GLTE ARMADA Mobile PXA1928 platform. The Project Ara modular smartphone platform is designed to lower barriers to entry, increase the talent pool for hardware developers and significantly compress hardware development and new technology insertion time scales. First launched in early 2014, the Marvell ARMADA Mobile PXA1928 is a 64-bit quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 running at 1.5GHz with Marvell's mature and field-proven 5-mode modem technology to provide a cost effective Linux and Android mobile platform. It supports 2G/3G/4G communications and enables an enhanced end-user experience for multimedia and gaming applications with universal connectivity. It supports all global mobile broadband standards, including LTE TDD/FDD, HSPA+, TD-HSPA+ and EDGE. It also supports multi-radio, CSFB and VoLTE solutions for LTE networks and features the GC5000 GPU with full HD capability providing high-performance and low-power computing for media-centric mobile devices. Key features of the Marvell ARMADA Mobile PXA1826 include: Multi-mode LTE R10 CAT7 supporting TD-LTE, FDD-LTE, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA and GSM; Integrated Cortex A7, up to 1.2GHz; Support CSFB and VoLTE voice services and includes Marvell's LTE R10 RF transceiver.
