Modine Manufacturing Company develops, manufactures, and markets heat exchangers and systems for use in on-highway and off-highway original equipment manufacturer (OEM) vehicular applications, and to various building, industrial, and refrigeration markets. It operates through five segments: North America, Europe, South America, Asia, and Commercial Products. The company offers power train cooling products, such as engine cooling modules, radiators, charge air coolers, condensers, oil coolers, fan shrouds, and surge tanks; on-engine cooling products, including exhaust gas recirculation coolers, engine oil coolers, fuel coolers, charge air coolers, and intake air coolers; and auxiliary coolers, such as transmission and retarder oil coolers, and power steering coolers, as well as provides component assemblies and radiators for special applications and battery cooling products. It also offers gas-fired, hydronic, electric, and oil-fired unit heaters; indoor and outdoor duct furnaces; infrared units; hydronic products, such as commercial fin-tube radiation, cabinet unit heaters, and convectors; roof mounted direct- and indirect-fired makeup air units; commercial packaged rooftop ventilation units; unit ventilators; single packaged vertical units; geothermal and water-source heat pumps; precision air conditioning units for data center applications; air-handling units; chillers; ceiling cassettes; and condensing units. The company serves automobile, truck, bus, specialty vehicle, agricultural, industrial, construction, and heating and cooling OEMs; construction architects and contractors; wholesalers of heating equipment; engine and mining equipment manufacturers; industrial manufacturers of material handling equipment, generator sets, and compressors; mechanical contractors; HVAC wholesalers; installers; and end users in various commercial and industrial applications. It also exports its products. The company was founded in 1916 and is headquartered in Racine, Wisconsin.

Modine Manufacturing Company Announces Conditional Plans to Close Washington, Iowa Manufacturing Facility

Modine Manufacturing Company announced conditional plans to close its manufacturing plant in Washington, Iowa. The decision is dependent upon the conclusion of bargaining with the union at the Washington facility. The closure would impact approximately 245 full-time employees. This action reflects Modine's proactive focus on operating scale production facilities across the globe in order to remain cost-competitive. The Washington plant makes liquid charge air coolers, plate oil coolers and fuel coolers for the automotive, commercial vehicle, and off-highway markets. Modine plans to transfer the Washington production to other facilities in North America, including those in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico; Joplin, Missouri; and Jefferson City, Missouri. Plans call for the plant to close over an approximate 24-month period.

David G. Bills to Join Modine Manufacturing Company Board Of Directors

Modine Manufacturing Company announced that the company's Board of Directors has increased the size of the Board from eight to nine members and elected a new director, with both actions taking effect on February 10, 2015. Joining the Modine Board will be David G. Bills, Senior Vice President – Corporate Strategy of DuPont since 2009. Prior to his current position, Mr. Bills held a number of positions of increasing responsibilities at DuPont, including Chief Marketing and Sales Officer; Vice President and General Manager – Fluoroproducts; Vice President and General Manager – Displays; and Vice President – Corporate Planning. Prior to DuPont, Mr. Bills was a partner in the Chicago office of McKinsey & Company, providing strategic guidance and consultation on a wide range of issues facing major industrial and technology companies. The Modine Board of Directors amended the company's Bylaws to allow for this expansion of the Board to a total of nine members. In order to permit an even distribution among the three classes of Modine's Board, Mr. Bills will be a member of the class standing election in 2016.
