The Board of Directors of MCAN Mortgage Corp. declared a second quarter regular dividend of $0.28 per share to be paid June 30, 2015 to shareholders of record as of June 15, 2015. The company reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2015. The company reported that net income for the first quarter of 2015 was $4.3 million, compared to $7.4 million in 2014. Earnings per share were $0.21, down from $0.36 in the prior year. Return on average shareholders' equity was 7.49% for the quarter, down from 13.52% in the prior year. The decrease in net income from the first quarter of 2014 was primarily due to certain items not related to net interest income. Net investment income from corporate assets was $7.4 million in the current quarter, down from $10.3 million in the prior year. Net investment income from securitization assets was $694,000 in the current quarter compared to a loss of $277,000 in the prior year. Net income before income taxes was $4,521,000 compared to $7,361,000 for the same period a year ago. Cash flows from operating activities were $43,787,000 compared to cash flows for operating activities of $175,803,000 for the same period a year ago.

MCAN Mortgage Corp. Proposes Amendments to By-Law No. Seven

MCAN Mortgage Corp. proposed amendment to section 3.17 of By-Law No. seven to increase the maximum aggregate remuneration that may be paid to the directors of the corporation in any given year for their services from $600,000 to $800,000, including the adoption of advance notice provisions for the purpose of providing shareholders, directors and management of the corporation with a clear framework for nominating directors of the corporation in connection with any annual or special meeting of shareholders where directors are to be elected. There proposals are to be made at the annual and special meeting of shareholders to be held on May 6, 2015.
