Merlin Entertainments plc recommended a final dividend of 4.2 pence per share, equating to a full year dividend for 2014 of 6.2 pence per share. The Ex-dividend date is April 30, 2015. Record date is May 1, 2015 and the payment date is June 5, 2015. The company announced consolidated earnings results for the year ended December 27, 2014. For the year, the company reported revenue of £1,249 million against £1,192 million a year ago. EBITDA was £411 million against £360 million a year ago. Operating profit was £311 million against £260 million a year ago. Underlying operating profit was £311 million against £290 million a year ago. Profit before tax was £226 million against £172 million a year ago. Underlying profit before tax was £249 million against £186 million a year ago. Merlin Entertainments plc (LSE:MERL) is seeking acquisitions. Nick Varney, Chief Executive Officer of Merlin Entertainments plc, said in Merlin Entertainments plc earnings presentation, “think they fit our strategy, we will look at opportunities for strategic acquisitions.” Andrew Carr, Chief Fiannaical Officer of Merlin Entertainments plc, said “So to a certain extent we want to retain that flexibility and we will continue to be looking for – particularly acquisitions is the obvious one in the sense that LEGOLAND Parks, the shorter-term pattern is relatively full in terms of the commitments we've already made, but we keep the radar spinning for acquisitions. We are very choosy about what we will look at, but we want to maintain the flexibility.”

Merlin Entertainments announced it is partnering with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and The LEGO Group to bring a new 4D animated film based on the popular characters of The LEGO® Movie, from Warner Bros. Pictures, Village Roadshow Pictures and LEGO System A/S, to guests at LEGOLAND® Parks and LEGOLAND® Discovery Centers around the world later this year. The new 4D animated film will open exclusively at the six LEGOLAND Parks and 11 LEGOLAND Discovery Centers in North America, Asia and Europe.
