It operates through two segments, Movie Theatres, and Hotels and Resorts. As of March 19, 2015, the company owned or operated 55 movie theatres with 685 screens in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Ohio; and owned and operated 9 hotels and resorts in Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma, as well as managed 10 hotels, resorts, and other properties for third parties in Wisconsin, California, Georgia, Minnesota, Nevada, and Texas. It also provides hospitality management services, including check-in, housekeeping, and maintenance for a vacation ownership development, such as 68 two-room timeshare units and a timeshare sales center. The company was founded in 1935 and is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Marcus Corp. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended May 28, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported total revenues of $120,084,000 against $108,474,000 a year ago. Operating income was $8,580,000 against $9,564,000 a year ago. Earnings before income taxes were $5,706,000 against $7,203,000 a year ago. Net earnings attributable to the company were $3,249,000 or $0.12 per diluted share against $4,254,000 or $0.16 per diluted share a year ago. For the year, the company reported total revenues of $488,067,000 against $447,939,000 a year ago. Operating income was $50,194,000 against $48,382,000 a year ago. Earnings before income taxes were $39,320,000 against $37,709,000 a year ago. Net earnings attributable to the company were $23,995,000 or $0.87 per diluted share against $25,001,000 or $0.92 per diluted share a year ago. Total capital expenditures during fiscal 2015 totaled approximately $75 million compared to approximately $57 million last year. Approximately $50 million of this amount was incurred in theater division related to the numerous investments that made in existing theaters as well as the new theater opened in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. The company spent approximately $24 million in hotel division with the majority related to the renovation and conversion of Chicago hotel into an AC Hotel by Marriott as well as prior renovations at the Eastern Cornhusker. For the quarter, the company reported impairment charge of $2,603,000. For the fiscal year 2016, the company expected EBITDA going from $82 million to $92 million. The company currently estimating that fiscal 2016 capital expenditures may be in the $70 million to $90 million range, with approximately $50 million to $65 million estimated for theater division including about $9 million in carryover from this past year.

The Marcus Corporation declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.105 per share of common stock. The dividend will be paid August 17, 2015 to shareholders of record on August 3, 2015. The Board of Directors also declared a dividend of $0.09545 per share on the Class B common stock. The dividend on the Class B common stock, which is not publicly traded, will also be paid August 17, 2015 to shareholders of record on August 3, 2015.
